VIN WDBHA33G2XF861602
1999 Mercedes-Benz C43 Sedan
74,000 miles

I might go have a look and am also looking for a MB PPI in SoFla (if the car is good).....I had an 01 e55 for a few months a few years ago (anthracite metallic) and enjoyed it but it was too big for me (and I got pulled over ripping it).

thanks

The reason I love (or am fascinated with) c43's (besides the fact I had an e55) is that in high school one of my best friend's had a 16v 2.3 or with a manual, it was such a cool car and made cool noises. Ok, he was a richy, but still, that thing was a sled and possibly the root of my amg addiction(s).

Since you already have the VIN why don't you run the carfax report yourself?

going to see it at lunch, any tips?

I will review the following:
1) transmission in reserve, and 2-3rd shifts
2) tire wear
3) bad mods

What else?

Thanks,
Joe

drove it at lunch

black on black with ortho seats and a one-tone interior, has mb phone, 75k miles, pulled hard but not shockingly fast like my e55 was (the e55 I had was so big and fast, that big accelerations felt almost dangerous)

tires were bald
all 4 wheels were cuffed
went into R without jerking around
pulled good through gears
air pumps for driver seat didnt work
brakes stopped car straight and well
little interior rattles
all 4 doors closed well but not like my range rover doors

This is a great conversation I am having with myself, thanks for all the support and information. Paying $260 for a 32-point inspection tomorrow and am waiting for a price on leak-down test.

More soon, for me, talking to myself.....

Humm, seller claimed "Everything works on the vehicle."

I've read other posts that say the air hoses get pulled off and need to be reattached.
If you can hear the pump running, but it just doesn't pump up the air bags (like mine), maybe it just needs the hoses reattached.

That's an cheap/easy fix with one from AutohausAZ.com

Humm, won't be long before the A/C doesn't work either.

In the current auction, seller claims "Everything on this vehicle works and is in great shape."

I don't think he is trying to mis-represent mileage, that might be stupid error.

I paid for a $169 PPI, so if anyone is intertested....check out the carfax too.
