I need help for 1999 C43!!!
The alarm started going off on its own yesterday morning. It did it 3 more times throughout the day, and now the car wont lock or unlock. The key doesnt work on the trunk either, where the battery is. It is kinda cold, and been a few days since its been started, im pretty sure the battery is toasst now, but there is no maual key to get into the trunk. Tow it to service at mercedes, or call a locksmith and change the battery and the fuse for the horn/rf? hmmmm what do you think?

hmm soo the battery is dead?
pop the hood there should be terminals to jump the battery, if not then try puttin the key in the ignition, and press the switch to open the trunk. if thats doesn't work, u need to get the car on. a locksmith won't be able to get the trunk open those locks on the trunk are pretty tricky and strong, sounds like a bad battery or my E420 did the same the damn door swicthes needed replacing

The manual insert should be in your electronic key. If you don't have that, you'll need to try jumping it under the hood as was mentioned before.

Any AMG Thats Around..
if you have no blade key there are 2 ways to get a little juice into the car...
1) under the hood... you can go to the altenator if your not sure whereelse to go....
OR
2) this is easier.... my jump box had a cigar lighter charging port... but if the car is dead the power flows the other way into the car.... so if you can get 12 volts into your cigar lighter, that should be enough to pop the trunk.. just dont turn the car on... or use any accessories... just the small pull to open the trunk....

Very true. Car dealers like to use trickle chargers that use solar power and plug into the 12V outlet. You could get one of those and plug it into the cigarette lighter.
