My "new" C43
Hello everyone. Well, I was the guy on here trying to get rid of my S2000 a few months back so I could get a C43. Well, I did both! All within a week. I drove this one awhile back and dealt with him but he wasnt willing to go as low as I offered. Kinda helps being a tech at the local Benz dealer, knowing what to look for....kinda unfair to him but my offer was my offer. He never really got any other serious offers so he called me back yesterday and I picked it up today!! Here's some pics on the second sunny day of the ENTIRE YEAR in Seattle.....after a good wash and Lexol.
Runs great and very clean. I test drove it before and I thought it was decent but this time around, it exceeded my expectations...maybe cuz I own it, haha. Im anxious to lower it and see how the handling is. Im sure its nowhere near the S2000's abilities but Im sure its no slouch. Mileage kinda high but Im ok with it. Front bumper fitment is a bit off and a coworker said he's worked on the car before and there's some balljoitns and bushings that might need tending to so I'll be makin sure everything is on the up when I put it on my lift.

120ish K isn't too bad.
Are you going to repaint that black roof ? At least in the pics it seems a little odd on a W202 chassis....which these days is almost Old Skewl.

No, I, personally, like the roof painted that way. I see the panoramic roofs all the time at work and (of course) they look better on the 211s and the 204s and all the other new gen cars, but I like it.

Can't say I know much about the 43's but they sound like they're fun. It looks to be in pretty good shape. Some of the guys in the W211 forum are talking about an AMG meet up near the Seattle area soon.

Haha, ouch. To each, its own as they say. Planning to do the typical - flat hood emblem, drop it, and change the grill. Possibly clear turn signal lenses. Maybe HID upgrade. Dont kno if I care to change the rims....dont like em much but I can stand em. Need to upgrade the ICE, thas for sure. I think thats about it.

'98 C43 AMG. Obsidian Blk w/2 tone slvr/blk interior
clear corners are nice, ive admired the look of them for years on w202's. then the novelty faded and now im all about the european bosch solid amber corners. they look very classy imo. the look moves away from younger "rice" effect to a more sophisticated "old man with a fast car" look. even though im only 25. in any case take a look for yourself, this pic was taken with the integrated camera in my pda so the quality is so-so....
