C36 engine ??'s

So I now have some strange issues. After the car is warm the car stutters and has allot of hesitation in the lower rpm range. After the RPM's climb over 3200-3500 it seems to have all the power, or at least feels better. Have had no CEL. If I disconnect the MAS the problem is still there. I did notice a plug receptacle (4 pin I think) on the throttle body facing the motor, there is nothing connected to it. This receptacle has a two wire pigtail coming off of it, only the two wires are broke off a few mm from the receptacle. Can anyone confirm or dis confirm weather there is anything connected to this plug off the wiring harness. Picture would be even better.

Any suggestions where my problem may lie?

thanx
JC

that may be your issue.

Also check to make sure your rubber ribbed intake boot (the one right after the MAS) isn't cracked on the bottom side. Those are very prone to cracking, could be a potential vacuum leak as well.

The only thing is, my indy says he does not believe there is supposed to be anything plugged in there. Anyone with a c36 could confirm this that would be great.
Dr.C36 there is no problem with any part of the intake that I can spot.

Maybe your wiring harness is bad?

I don't know for a fact but I suspect that the harness had already been replaced, as the wiring that I saw was in pretty good shape. Although I did not check the whole length.

On that same note. I saw a thread once about a guy who makes wire harnesses. Anyone know who that was?

could be bad head gasket, reduced performance comes about from bad head gasket as well.

the head gas is leaking at the tipical spot (corner of the head, block and timing cover). It has leaked since I got it. It looses only a few ounces of oil per 3k oil change. It does not seemed to have changed. Could this really cause such bad performance all of the sudden? wouldnt this be something that would get worse with time. Why does it run so well when cold?

IMHO, you have an electrical issue. The fact that the car runs fine over 3200 rpms, is interesting.

You may want to stop by a mechanic with a real time monitoring device (as opposed to just an OBD-II scanner) and go for a drive with the monitor hooked up.

I cant help but think that it has something to do with an o2 sensor or fuel delivery. I guess any of those could derive from an electrical issue.

sounds like airplane
sounds like fuel delivery issue to me- similar issue on "car talk" today and that's how they diagnosed.

it might be your cam sensor, that may explain why its at 3200 rpm.

Well it looks like the wiring harness is first. I will see if that fixes anything......If not than at least I can go from there without wondering if that is the problem.
