Exclamation Is there a sport version of the steering damper I can buy anywhere?

Hi, my c43 steering performance feels like it's on vacation, so I guess I need a new steering damper. the car has only 52,000miles on the clock= cirka85,000km.
I like to know if there are any better and stiffer steering dampers than mercedes original, I asked my local stealer, he told me it's the same as on the w124 E-klasse type.

Do you know if later AMG cars SL, S-klasse,CLK,C-klasse have a steering damper that can be used on my C43 AMG?
Does Brabus offer a stiffer one?
Do you know the parts number of the better part?
Thanks

I don't know how 'sporty' you expect a recirculating ball steering system is supposed to be but the part is $26 at autohausaz and it's a ten minute job with a 16mm wrench

I can tell you from motorcycle experience that a stiffer steering damper typically makes the steering stiffer. It doesn't improve actual steering performance. For performance, you may want to look for worn parts.

On the CLK, there's a 4 year / 50,000 mile service to retorque the steering gear bolts. Does the same apply to the C43, and if so, has it been done? While it's in the air, you may want to take a look at the bushings, check the ball joints (wheel play at 12 and 6 o'clock), and the tie rods.

In '71 there was a Kowalski. He made quite a name for himself. Left Denver and headed to SF. He was delivering a big block R/T Challenger. 426? 440? I never found out. In the move, Vanishing Point, they never opened the hood.

Hey bud, Kowalski is the man I'm refering to from the movie V.P., his car is a beast and he is poping pills to stay up late, movies from the seventies are so cool especially the roadmovies such as Cannonball, Speedtrap, GONE IN 60 SEC. the H.b. Halicki movie.

Well I was asking about the steering damper coz my steering doesn't feel very responsive, so I wanted to buy a better and stiffer shock I guess there is only one version to buy so, this has to be the one. thanks for the reply.

the old style mb steering is not very responsive in performance driving

if you got some stiffer springs and maybe replaced your LCA bushings and tie rods, along with any other components which may be worn out, then you may be surprised with how much crisper the car will feel
