Carl's right ... while SeeKlasse you have a point too... it's no C43 (pound the peddle & go) and certainly can't be equated to the sheer thrust of the 5.4L in our W202s...
It's my daily... drive it like I stole it a bit & get 25mpg... drive easy around town & get 30mpg (it's what I've been getting while breaking it in) ... drive on the hiway & get 34mpg. Yet still has the giddey'up to be nearly as quick as a stock C43. Not quite the same 'explosiveness'; that's perhaps due tho to me keeping the RPMs under 4500, and not turning the fully ECU nannies off much. Also, the C43's tranni/torque converter gives a torque 'pop' when you upshift (especially w/the 5.4L), where when you upshift you actually have more torque than the previous gear... that's not the case w/the JCW; upshift is always less torque than the previous gear... i.e. no 'pop' on upshift. That's normal for a manually tranni engine that make peak power near redline... I'm just not used to it.

But I may be disappointing you Carl.. after all the money I sank into the C43 and unable to get much if I were to sell it now, I'm not planning on going nuts on this car (ok, let's see what happens in a few years
). Other than some modest suspension mods and the obligatory piggie-back ECU when UniChip/Alta makes one available or Berg (Bergur?) Motorsports make a 'Hot-Pill' for it, , I won't be doing much else. It already breaths great (enough). ...I can talk in detail next week...I hope... Hope I wake Up! You guys meet too early!
