I'm running 225/40/18 in front with no issues at all. Lowered with Vogtlands on all four corners. What's the problem you're having on the 225's?

yo sdr, how does you car feel with the airbox, ecu, and underdrive setup? im curious because these are all prospective upgrades ive considered. maybe you should try out one of those lightweight CP's. arguably not much gains by itself but im sure it will intermingle well with your other mods....

225s just rub when pulling out of places and stuff. nothing that really matters its just 215s would probably match the slightly stretched 255s in the back and i miss being able to turn around in a road instead of 3 point turns

215 imo are too narrow, get 225, but get a tire with a rounder sidewall like pirelli neros, sidewall make a huge difference between rubbing, some rubbing, and no rubbing
and 255 rear

Any tire rubbing on dips in the road with those Vogtland's and what shocks and springpad #'s are you using?

This is the AMG forum, not the W202 forum right? let me check. Ya, it is. I say that because, 225 is the stock AMG size...[!] No, the car does not come from the factory rubbing.... ever!

At that tire width [225], any rubbing is 100% a function of the wheel's offset. So whoever you heard it from didn't know enough about rims to spec & buy the right rims. You can get away with 235 with no rubbing with the right rims. 245 even with minor rubbing, with the right rims. Recommendation is stick with 225 tho.... and the right rims!

i was actually wondering that same thing. uh hey guy everyone here with c36's and 43's all use 225front/245rear stock... with some upgrading to bigger wheels and widths

225 in front should be just perfect, but keep in mind YOU DROP THE CAR IT MAY RUB! i have 225 40 zr18's and when i turn the car it lightly rubs you can hear is go EEEEEE.... my buddy has 225-45 zr17 you turn to fast in his car it rubs a little more tougher, his car is dropped as low as mine, but not that bad... so yes, 225 is wat comes stock, but also the car comes like 10 inches off the ground sstock

ricco, i saw your gallery on club202, i cant blame you for painting the wheels black. i see that you got the car with chrome wheels, i would have done the same thing. i hate chrome wheels. your car looks SO much better with the graphite colored rims... i wonder how that would look on my obsidian blk c43..

chromes were 17", graphites are 18". if i had a black car, i'd go with silver rims.
