Anyone know where to get cheap black brabus reps. I want them as big as possible, but without rubbing issues or fender rolling needed.

a link would help

Why is fender rolling such a big no-no?

Then 18s will be fine. If you're looking to be low with 8.5 and 9.5, be ready to roll your front fenders though (the rears come rolled from the factory).

How about these...

2 = 8.5Jx18H2xET35 and 2 = 9.5Jx18H2xET35

and how about these (these are blackk)

the wheels are:

18x8.5
18x9.5

and the tires that are mounted and balanced are:

225/40/18
255/40/18

The rears should be 255/35/18, not 255/40

do some research. the "40" or "35" is a relative value. it determines the sidewall height. the relevance is to tire width, i think its a percentage. if you have a wider tire in the rear than in the front, in order to keep the sidewalls a consistent size, the wider tire is going to be the one to have a smaller value for sidewall...

Im about to grab my 97 C36 tomarrow.

i checked it all out including the engine manifold and all that good stuff.
it needs new tires.
so i figure i might as well get new rims @ the same time

What type of tires should i get to go with this?

eh. pretty expensive. tirerack doesnt sell toyo, but try to find some toyo px4's. theyre great tires. 120 for each front one and 130 for each rear one... good treadwear and, of course, great performance.

Toyo

proxie4's drive up to Sacramento les schwab tire center, toyo even makes a higher rated performance tire and the new big les up north of you has the latest hunter alignment machine if you are dropping the suspension.
http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit
for the guy that was wondering about tire profiles and aspect ratios, you want to keep your rolling diameters the same front to back and close to oem tire height. If you don't your abs, cruise control, esp will all be screwy
to say nothing about how far your speedometer will be off.

Thats not too bad

i ended up buy Michelin Ps2's

280each!!

but they are rated for 6 years no matter what warrenty and all this other good stuff. soo if i burnout alot and use them before six years is up, they will give me a new set for free. =]

besides there is no question about grip.
They put them on Mclaren F1's =]

negative. youre going to get screwed bigtime with PS2's. youll be lucky to get 12k miles out of the rear tires. those tires are going to be gone within the next year and youll have wasted over a thousand dollars!

why do you think i put toyo proxes on my car after burning through sets of pzeros.. because it really doesnt matter what you use, youre going to get good traction regardless. you might as well try to get a few extra miles between new sets and maybe not spend so much each time

they have a costoco warrently, so if they go out before 6yrs (predicted wear) they replace them for me new set. aka every time i start to get low... go sum burnouts and Get NEW ONESS

theres no way. that is horrible business practice, theyell never make money offering 12k mile tires with a 6 yr warranty without some type of mileage regulation.

costco isnt stupid. u probably misread. 6 yrs at standard yearly mileage of 12k per yr is 72k miles.... i dont think so. they did not predict that those tires would wear in 6 yrs, youre out of your mind!

you misread.

http://www.costco.com/Images/Content/Misc/PDF/TIRE.pdf

60 months. thats 5 yrs, and its road hazard. it states in there that if the tire is worn down past a certain point, it is a worn tire... which means you buy a new tire.

this forum exists for a reason - for us to share our experiences. unless your parents are nice enough to buy you a new set of PS2's every year, you should have listened to people's advice and gone with a more economical choice. just because the michelin ps2 is the highest rated tire grip-wise doesnt mean that youre going to be able to tell a noticeable diff between those and a set of toyos, which would have cost you less than 700 for the set mounted, balanced, and aligned.

Pro rated

tire wear,if you wear out half the tread depth in 6 months of a 5 year tread warranty ,they might replace them but you will pay for the half life used.
less the exclusions, and they are no fools when looking at an AMG with tires smoked to half depth in 6 months they know for certain you violated one of these exclusions
2. A tire that is damaged / failed due to an accident.
3. A tire that is damaged / failed due to commercial use.
4. A tire that is damaged / failed due to racing.
5. A tire that is damaged / failed due to Off-Road use.
6. A tire that is damaged / failed due to snow chains or studs.
7. A tire that is damaged / failed due to rapid or irregular wear.
ohlord
Great tires ,but in recent tests the proxie4 and the higher rated toyo from les schwab rated equal or better and the new schwab stores have the latest hunter align machine, will install spring kits for a drop and install camber kits and links to get it into spec.
either way you go the biggest increase in tire life is a proper alignment.
and not toasting them every stop light

A 18x8.5 in the front is pushing it. I ran a 18x8 in the front of my C36, which was lowered about 2 inch's and had rubbing problems, as AMG only rolled the top portion of the fender lip, they did not roll it all the way, something I had to finish.

No way I could of run a 8.5, unless I went with a much smaller tires stretched onto the rim, which is something that should NOT be done.

Stick with the proven size, 18x8 and 18x9 with the 31mm offset (AMG monoblocks)
