Used market for C36?
I am in the market for a used C36.
I am looking at a 1996 C36 with about 60k miles - clean one owner.
What would be a fair price for this? Also, is the market for a used C36 strong? Is this car highly desirable and easy to re-sell (just in case)?
Thanks so much!

Who knows how long the depressed market will last.
The vehicle is worth what you are willing to pay for it and what the seller will accept.
Now is the time to buy...
If you have cash, then you are in the best position to negotiate.

Thank you. Do you have any guidance on what this car is worth? $8-9K?
Get the VIN and run a Carfax report which will tell you if the vehicle has true mileage and has been in any accidents.
The $8-$9K range is possible depending on the individual vehicle.
But keep in mind the current economy and the impact on prices of used cars.
What is the asking price ?
I always rationalize a purchase in the sense that the vehicle is unique and no other vehicle can be that vehicle.
Look at the market and see what newer but boring cars you can get in the price range.
The C36 is a limited production vehicle made in the era when Merc still had a much better build quality then the newer cars.
Keep the mileage low, maintain it, and it will not cost you much in depreciation.
In fact a better economy will see it appreciate.
