Stick with Bosch Super Coppers, they are the best for these older engines. Older German engines don't do well with platinum & etc. Plus copper ones are like $1.50 a piece, the fancy ones can get ridiculously expensive.

I have Denso iridiums on my c36. Good for 100k+ miles. The car runs smooth as butter. Screw the coppers they only last 30k miles.
I found this http://2kracing.com. They have different kind for AMG. I don't know which ones buy

$1.50 vs. $13 each ($9 vs. $78) ... wow, so you can literally buy all 6 plugs for less than the price of one iridium.
Any gains you get from plat/ir plugs are purely psychological on an NA engine like the C36. A new set of coppers vs. a old used set will give you the same results. Just get the coppers

usually copper plugs will last 50-60k on avg. Platinums & etc can last longer but they cost 4-10x as much so really no matter how you look at it coppers are the best way to go on these old motors. Of course on newer MB engines they only make platinum plugs so you don't really have a choice. hope that helpsOriginally Posted by kinghais

My C36 with 104k+ miles runs high 13s@100mph stock. So there is a performance difference. The Iridiums are probably the last plugs I will change on the C36. So the performance gain and longevity is worth the extra $.Originally Posted by AMS Performance

no spark plugs have ever gained over 1-2 HP (most of which is probably dyno variability in itself). Just giving you a hard dose of reality, they are not worth the money, the gains are simply "smoothness" other then that its all psychological.

Spark plugs in M103 and M104's seem to be a continuous debate.
Both engines are very sensitive and can be problematic if the correct Merc spec plugs are not used...
But we all know that

i think i'm going to get the Bosch Super Coppers.
Newbie
Denso Iridiums here too (Christmas present, thanks Dad!), very happy with them.
