So I drove my E55 into work today....

like everyone says go up to the 5.5l and then force that! ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
idt be one bad mother then!
the only reason i have my little c280 is manual transmission, to me that is more important than motor size, so i had to go boosted to keep manual and get more power![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
but yea if you have a 4.3 the 5.5 upgrade would be the first mod!

I don't get the normal response of the "55" being so much more fun or in some way better than a supercharged 4.3...
dyno charts simply do not support this, with a sc 4.3 capable of easily putting down more tq earlier and more power throughout.
OBVIOUSLY a 5.5 plus forced induction would be the best of all options, but then you have to pay for both things etc.. If you have to choose one I'd certainly go with the supercharger.
also, at least up here in Minnesota our street racing for $ doesn't even begin to take place with cars that aren't at least 2-3 SECONDS faster than a swapped C43 (or supercharged C43) for that matter. Who are you finding who wants to race for $$$ that doesn't actually run at least 10s (and likely with a stock looking car)?

apples and oranges, with enough boost 1.2L starts to become less important than other things in and around the motor.
Some days I wish I swapped the 5.5 for simplicity and when I'm working on the cramped S/C engine bay. Some days the blower is so cool I just couldn't imagine not having the torque and sound. Apples and oranges.
Prob spent $5500 getting mine to where it was right. If anyone cares to know in comparison. Prob do the same for $3500-$4000 now.

Fastest transplanted C43/55 ran 12.9 @110mph in high altitude in the west coast. Fastest N/A CLK55 ran 12.4 sec at 114mph and there is another here that ran a similar time at MIR. You have data that shows me you r quicker, then post it.

Not to come off real harsh but over here street racing is barely done anymore because the Highway Patrol men and State Troopers here in NYC and NY State will take your car and put your tail in jail. They are out in full force.
We go to three of the most famous 1/4 mile tracks here on the east coast, Englishtown,Atco and MIR. This way everything is legal and no one gets killed.
What you guys do in Minnesota is your biz but I'm not loosing my car and going to jail. Street racing has been shut down here in NY. In NY we've been there done that. Folks get killed. I have not raced my car on the streets since last summer. I also gotta think of my wife and kids.
If you can post your dyno and your 1/4 mile track results ,I'm pretty curious.
Finally you guys only have a lil more HP and Tq than I have with my softer mods. I will have to call L.E.T and ask them to e-mailemy dyno #'s. If I remember I put down 324rwhp and 349 ftlbs of rwTQ.
Add a S/C to that and we are talking over 400+whp and over 500+wtq.
For each his own. Plus I like the low maintenance when dealing with my car.
I want sick power and a low 11 second 130mph car that handles better and is much cheaper to build then I deal with my talon.

That was alot to read Carl.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Here is a 109mph from my first time at the track. I have to say that it wasn't smooth by any means and I really had/have to change a few things up to get it right this year. I felt she had a bit left get to the ground. I'll post you a 110 or better in a few weeks so we have some evidence.

109 mph trap should have you easily into the 12's. Gotta get traction off the line and get that 60' down. That's good to see though.

My best 60's were 2.3's and the car was a mess off the line, ESP going nuts and defenitly cutting out. Tried ESP on/off, W/S mode, torque brake, you name it. Cold day, first time, and brand new tires is my excuse. I just sold a set of 275/35/18 drag radials that were a c**t hair from fitting safely
. I have a set of 16's on the way with some nitto drags. I'm hoping that will fix the hook up buisness.

I don't street race- someone just made a point about how it's "cool to look stock" and make $ (did they not?)...
My car has is, as of yet, quite untested. I'm too busy trying to compete in some other sports that are self-powered and training is taking up all my car time this year (the economy and buying a home sort of ruined this year for me car show wise anyways).

On the way home I wanted to catch the bank before closing. So I'm at a light, with the bank in sight a 1/4 mile away and 1 min to go before closing. I put tippy in manual and ready myself. The light changes and I punch it....damm this car is fast..
kinda forgot ![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)

Now some of you guys take this engine and put in the C43.
...That has to be an insane *** ride...
I wish I new of the swap prior to buying the C, if I did I would of surely pulled the trigger on a high mileage C.

I don't know the answer, but if you do the swap, you might be the only MY00 with a 5.4L in the US.
