For that reason it'd be a better idea to go to high flow steel cats. This will make the car mildly louder and still free up some horses while not being overly loud. This will also allow you to still pass smog tests. You may want to look into deleting the resonator and going to straight pipe. Again, this will give a richer sound, more volume, and more power.
Personally I would go with high flow cats, a resonator delete, and a higher flow muffler. I think either Kleemann or Eisenmann makes a muffler for your car, the resonator delete can be done by a good exhaust shop, and if you order a high flow cat, you can have it put in at the shop as well.
Hope that helped some.

sounds like airplane
performance wise you aren't going to gain anything
delete the resonator for the sound- keep the stock muffler and your "sleeper" status. Nothing cooler than the way our cars go from sounding like 'nothing' to exotic V8 when you get on it (well, other than when they go from slight rumble to exotic v8 plus supercharger scream).
"full" exhaust as described above will cost you 1/4 or so of the total I have into performance stuff... and net 3 hp at the expense of tq? doesn't seem worth it to me.

The only mods that will give you decent power are Headers & high flow 2nd cats. They will also significantly improve sound as well. Don't touch the rear muffler or resonator, those aren't the weak points in the system, its the front half of the system you should spend all your time on.

speedybenz has all the suspension stuff you could want- do a search
my honest opinion- car handles pretty well with springs/shocks, isn't going to handle great either way and isn't a car that I'd personally take to a track with turns.... so, springs/shocks it is.
There are guys who have really put a lot of effort into it and who DO track their C43s (55s) with great success, but don't do the suspension stuff just to do it.

Silence,
With the right suspension and sway-bars your C43 would behave completly different and will get around corners better than a Stock BMW M3 and better than one with minor mods. Or I guess I will say mine will, but then like you mentioned I have spent many hours working it all out.
But if you don't lower the car too far and use some extra bump rubbers on the shocks you can get pretty close and the car is still very livable for everyday use.
Best Shocks - Penske Triple adjustable shock with remote canisters that hold both low speed and high speed compression adjusters. The rebound is adjusted with a knob at the bottom of the shock body.

Silence,
Ya, I totally understand that. But for me that is one of the reasons I like it so much. Nobody expects these cars to be able to run around the track or up in the hillls like they do and so it puts a smile on my face when I can knock the socks off some new 350Z driver who is unaware of what he just came into contact with.
The look on their faces is priceless.
Sorry for the detour on this thread.

I am interested in the penske's also, can we get a group buy together or something?Im sure others are interested. If not , a website to purchase them from. Also " Brakeman" brakes? I need new pads for my rears and possible slotted rotors, are these to your liking? It seems like we have the same ideas or goals for our cars. And your setup sounds like what I want, but with the brand namesive been lacking. (Newbie)

just with H&R springs and bilstein shocks, my car transformed completly
I love driving it in canyons and my friend who tracks his 911 turbo always tells me my car handles awesome
Btw I just deleted my resonator only and the sound is perfect. Not too loud but noticeably louder than stock. It suits the car perfectly. I paid $70 at a local muffler shop and im completely satisfied
Speedybenz we have to get together sometimes since you are in sacramento. I might go to laguna with my friend in December, you should join

I will get you guys pricing on the Penske shocks. The Delrin sway bar bushings and better or I shold say longer shock bump rubbers.
Give me a couple of days to get pricing together and I will see if Penske will offer any kind of group buy on these.
