transmission blue top solenoid modification for faster firmer shifts
when i bought my c43 i checked the transmission serial number and part number and found it was out of a 99 e430 pretty much the same internals i will be be putting these in my clk55 trans when my engine and trans arrive for my swap and let everyone know how that goes.
solenoids part#240 270 0089 may sub that is the number from epc

and in the second post you said " I asked one of my friend, his swedish qualified mechanic, he said the blue solenoid upgrade is only works with late 99/00"
so have you done the swap? if so why are you asking if it works?




back after only 2 days,, when i said works, i meant without firm shifts, i have an early 98 gearbox, that’s why i forced firm shifts, but in your
late 99/00 -/+ touch shifts you can do that upgrade without forcing that firm shifts, that’s what that swedish mechanic want to tell,, hope

So you are saying the blue tops will not create a "firm" shift in a 2000 C43 because it has the touch shift but it will create the "firm" shift in the 98/99 C43?? How "firm" are the shifts, the OP had a '99 C43 and he said he liked it...

1) replacing the blue solenoids or a valve body assembly with part # "211 270 00 06 " instead of our # "140 270 01/02/03/04/06 06"
2) shift assembly from # "129 260 45/46 98" to # "202 267 08 24"
3) replacing TCU EGS51 from # "021 545 84/86/87/88 32" to EGS52 # "025 545 21 32" or "027 545 10/12 32" or "030 545 20/23 32"
* i done a TCU tuning with my previous E55, honestly i didn’t notice any difference,, i contacted with 'Harmann Bader in MKB', he said you
well not get any benifit with the TCU only, you need to do a mechanical tuning as well,, anyone here can confirm that...........??

So swap the blue solenoids, the EGS 52, and the shifter assembly and it will work? No other programming or swap of the ECU is needed???
How much is the EGS 52?
All of the E55 guys are praising the TCU tune, perhaps the tune you got wasn't very good...

Great, just when I was nearing the end of the road for mods on my C43 this pops up




complete assembly,, when i do all that, gear won’t shift, then i reset the ECU to identify the TCU signal goes & back to the MAF,, after that
car working perfect, without any issues,, sometimes the ECU can’t recognize the new version of the TCU, that’s definately need to reset it,,
and also some models got the TCU p/n related to the chassis it self, in this case it not works,, i don’t know surely if it works with U.S
version, if the car got a security self system in the ECU, it may not except the TCU swap.......!!?
TCU upgrade control the shift, to make it quicker & remove the rev limiter, i think its not that necessary to do it,, sorry this is my thought,
i could be wrong.........
