![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Just bought a c43 and love the car. It had an after market (pos) stereo and I am in the process of replacing it with the Becker 1692 factory stereo with an aux line for an ipod. Removed the after market and found a mess of wires. First question does the car have an amp? If so where? And can I test it? Thanks.

why would you put a factory stereo deck?
maybe it looks more original in the car, but don't do it!
factory set up sux!
If you have Bose speakers then you have the amp behind the innerliner in the trunk on the left side!
The complete Bose set up sounds ok but it's worthless!
I have it in my 99 c43 and It behaving weird sometimes!
tapedeck sometimes switches off by it self when I want to crank up the volume!
the sound level between left/right side is in favor to passenger side sounding a little more clear and crisp over the driver side!
I had to adjust the volume to be a tad higher on drivers side!
Buy a great aftermarket setup and instal in your lovely Benzito!
Far better stuff than factory crap!

Thanks for the info. I am kind of a purest. Couldn't look at some after market, neon, remote control stereo. I have the becker in but can not get any sound out of it and thought if the amp was inop that might explain some things.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
