Someone parked a black W202 C55 right next to my black C43 today. All I can say is I wish you were there so I could check the C55 out more in person.

I wish they were there as well because it was most likely re-badged. I believe there were only 45 "AMG SPECIALS" and I find it hard to believe you ran across a real one. It is possible but not plausible

Seriously??? Where do you think people got the idea to drop a 5.4 in???? Look it up, it was an option only available in europe/uk. I believe it cost about 30,000 pounds at the time and AMG would do it. There is some debate whether there were 30 or 45 made. I am going to contact AMG tomorrow to get the facts but the W202 C55 DOES exist and it WAS made by AMG.

I knew the C55 was rare-but not that rare. Either way- I was impressed to see W202 ///AMG beside my car. It was detailed as clean as mine, and I liked the dropped suspension. It did have "black series" badge but figured it was to go with its black look.
My guess is he is a forum member...Hope you don't mind pics posted of your ride if so. Cell phone pics so bare with it.
The 55 is facing pic and mine is trunk first. I have black C43 and Black ///AMG logo so you really can't see it until your right up on it.
I noticed its brakes were different and the rotors were cross cut/drilled. Would having headlight wipers be a clue to its age? I was thinking 97. The car looked great. I'd still like to see one with a 5.5 Motor convert- better yet, I'd like to drive it.

Thanks for the link of its specs. http://marcusfitzhugh.com/CLK/ states its only 40 HP more? I drove an E55 and I swear it had more pull. Couldn't a chip tweak it to about that?

That looks like Money-One's car?
https://mbworld.org/forums/c36-amg-c...-you-cant.html
Seems like he is your part of the world. He's running a 55K motor in there now, much quicker than the a '55' swap!

I see the pics I have posted. The pics and detailed info were located on a link below. Is that link below the pics you were referring to?

are these 6 piston calipers with the newer SBC system?
when the SBC brake system came it caused a whole lotta trouble for MB cars!
if these are SBC calipers was the SBC disconnected then?
what's the partsnumbers for these calipers and the rotors?
does standard c43 rotors fit these 6 piston calipers?
