Mazdaspeed 3 Turbo and C43 up to 130 results...
I just finished off a 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 turbo - from the dead red stop light - the guy asked if I would go so I said 'sure'. I lost a little traction off the line but it hooked up and around 90 I started to pull pretty good - he did bring it back up a bit around 110 or so but once at 130 + I was two solid cars ahead. Doesn't sound all that great but the Mazdaspeed 3 turbo is a quick little car! It was a total blast and my 11 year old car did just fine
we both had sh*t eating grins on our face and it was a blast

Street racing: stupid
Street racing and hitting 100+: ultra stupid
Having your kid ride with you while you hit 130 on the street: uber retarded
Kill story denied.

22 X3, 21 330e, 97 M3, 97 C36 (sold), but on the hunt for a clean, low-mile C43!
You might of misread the post (or maybe I did) but I believe he said his 11 year old CAR not his 11 year old kid. It sounds as though you are about as interested in street racing as we are interested in hearing your opinions on street racing.

Thank you 503 - I don't even have a kid yet
Secondly, as you know I live in Tri Cities and we are a rural town - this was on a highway heading out of town so it was open road from beyond this signal - i.e., no cars anywhere in site - and yes, it was a blast!! Kill story accepted! thanks 503!

PJ that's what I've read as well - torque is around 260 or so - so it's no slouch - top speed governed at 155mph. I thought it was a well matched sprint - but our v8's get a bit more umph at the higher speeds.

Had a roomatte in flight school with the same car, always wanted to run him but never found a good time/place (S TX cops would not have enjoyed this). Figured it would be a pretty good match; sounds like it was.

FLYNAVY - it was a good match - engines have come so far since our cars - but the V8 still muscles it at the higher speeds - we're lucky to have such fun cars!

Funny...just last week I was considering ditching the Merc for a MS3. Pretty cool cars and might fit my life a little better right now. Still might do it...need to see what they will give me for a trade. There are TONS of easy upgrades for the MS3 to really get that turbo spinning.

Good to hear another C43 owner had success against a Mazdaspeed3. I raced my buddy at the drag strip a few times last month. I usually ended up 1+ car length ahead. But those cars are definitely easy to make fast, just the nature of the beast being turbocharged.
