possible newbie

hello if youve been on the c32/c55 forums im on there, i drive a 2002 c32 amg, but i have a friend who will be looking for a car in a month or sooner. he wants a hundai genesis coupe 3.8 (not a bad car at all) but there is a 1998 c43 amg here down in naples florida. it has 134,000miles but it look super clean, i have an appointment to go look at it tomorrow but i wanted to get a little insider on what to look for with these cars. and maybe some inexpensive minor mods for a little more hp.

Not too many inexpensive power mods for these cars, but I highly recommend one!

c5.8
Only compressor installation to add many hp or to do swap on other engine, which more powerful. ECU Tuning will not give more hp ( 25-30hp/ 10-15 m )

any major fixes that i should know about, the car is going in for inspection tomorrow, the seller is paying for it. its white with the blue and black leather (just like my c32) she wants 7,800$ for it (private seller) i drove it yesterday and imo it drives amazing. we got her to take 7k for it, i cant paste the link to the car for i am in school at th moment (computers wont copy and paste), but if you go to autotrader.com type in 33913 for area code and search within 10 miles for a c43 it the white one that comes up, let me know what you think

Valve cover gaskets, tranny, and rotors (rotors aren't a weak link they are just EXPENSIVE)

7K is a good deal, I bought mine 5 months ago for $6,500. A LOW mile C43 in EXCELLENT condition is worth around $12K

Thanks DRBC43AMG for enlightening me. Now, this may sound stupid for asking since I don't own a C43 AMG, but, Are all C43's supercharged? Thanks for being patient with me since I have a lot to learn about this great cars.

No, none are from the factory. There are a couple C43's around running the HPS blower system, but this has all been done after-market. OP has a C32, which was factory supercharged though.

There are a couple after market super chargers for the C43, HPS makes one as well as kleeman but they are $$$$$$$. C32's are supercharged from the factory. I was looking into supercharging my C43 but it appears that the 5.4L swap will be more economical as well having the potential for more HP with the added bonus of being able to rebadge my C43 to a C55

if you are planning on putting a hps supercharger kit, maje sure you get the generation 1. you can also try to ask nitrogen balance about his setup.

I talked with him about the setup and from what he had said I think I'm gonna pass on the whole supercharger idea. I'm sure you have seen my other thread regarding a 5.4L swap instead and it looks like I might pass on that as well..... Looks like I'm gonna go with my original idea of picking up a W210 E55 but I am still investigating the 5.4L swap.

I do like the idea of owning 2 AMG's

that would be a better idea.... me, i just did a custom exhaust (love on cols starts) and that's it! maybe a good intake eventually. i'm still searching for the best intake set up for our car. i'm leaning towards gruppeM but its $$$$! also, they don't have a set up for a c43, only the 55. i'm waiting or they're response if its doable on our cars.

congrats on the find, I picked mine up a couple weeks ago now and while I would've preferred a white or black one, I settled for the silver cause it was super clean and had the HPS kit on it already. Your buddy should like it, seems that they're good cars when properly maintained.
