If you guys want to try something pretty amazing, try some Hankook R-s3. I got incredible performance out of these. The grip is amazing.

They are probably the only 140 rated wear tire that performs (when hot) close to a 50 rated tire.

For the price, they are worth a try. I will say that in heavy wet at highway speed, they are not recommended and the other choices listed above are probably better. Fortunately, I have 2 sets of rims.

It gets really wet in Dallas at certain times of the year so I need something that has both great dry and wet grip for DD duty.

the manual states snow tires sized 215-45-17 on all corners can be used, so, if u wish to extend the life of the rear tires with rotation, u could try 225-40-18 front and back.

many summer tires outperform all season tires in the rain, as all season tires only indicate ability to traverse light snow. just gotta make sure u have enough tread to properly excavate water

Toyo Proxes 4's (All season UHP tire) is what I have right now... I live in the NW so having double duty tires is a MUST. I have 0 complaints about the Toyos. They have Excellent traction when it's dry, great traction when it's wet, and are REAL quiet. Only downside is that they are $$$$$$$$$$$$

Also, PS2s cheat you on size, they run very narrow compared to the extreme dry category tires like Z1 and RE-11. A PS2 255 tire is only as wide as a Z1 225mm tire (yes you read that correctly), its 3 sizes smaller by contact patch width.

Michelin PS2s are like Gucci tires, its all brand name showing off ... nothing more. Anytime I buy a car with PS2s the first thing I do is rip them off the car and either throw them away or sell for quick cash.

Go with the RE-11s if you have 19s, Z1s if you have 18s ....

end of story.
Dude, you gotta be on crack or something stronger...
I've never had any experience with RE -11s, but have used SO1, SO2, SO3 then SO3 had side wall cracking/falling off problem and I moved to PS2s. I wished I could use Michelin sport cup but its not available for 19s. PS2 255 is narrower?? PS2s are one of the most squared tire I've seen to date. Do you know why people spend extra on these tires?? its the weight compared to other tires. The weight reduction on the rotating mass is like gain in power. Tire critics pick it as #1 tires in there catergory, and guess what??? Porsche CGT comes with PS2s.
Try comparing RE - 11s and Michelin Sport Cup to be fair!!

+1 You get what you pay for with tires.

In a day-to-day basis every mid-level / ricer approved/ hi-tech "performance' tire I've ever driven on has mannerisms of pigs - tramlining, harsh, noisy etc. etc.

Michelins are amongst the best tires not simply because the grip and control but they don't turn the car into a skateboard.

I use the original Pilot Sport (2nd set on my car) and the only reason why is they are still a directional design so I can swap them L to R to even wear.

I won't try anything else it's perfect the way it is.

Aren't directional tires meant to go in one direction?? You could swap them out front to back but if you go left to right won't that reverse the direction??? I believe that would ruin your traction when it's wet out if not something worse...

I dismount the tires and flip them on the rim. Then swap wheels.

One of the member of M3forum had his SO3 tire failure about 4years ago. I was using SO3 at the time and when it was time to replace the tires I got PS2s and never looked back.

I'd go Ps2 due to cost but I will show camber wear 1/2 thru the tires life...

Even bone stock they do that.

Ps2 is pure crap by comparison ... unless you have tried direzza Z1s or RE-11s, youve never had a true extreme performance tire. Go to any race track and those are the only two tires you will see. Ps2 are like kuhmo 712 by comparison. They barely have 50% of the grip of those two mentioned. The tire game has changed drastically over the past few years and michelin is stuck in the past.

Also, ps2s are made in china and their quality is crap, two of mine had the belts snap causing them to go out of ballance, the other had a massive bubble.

Try z1s or re-11 and you will promptly remove your foot from your mouth ... the end

Car and driver made a big deal out of those direzzas. they are also the absolute worst on noise, tramline pretty fierce and they are pretty much an auto-x only tire. Check the comments on them on tirerack.com

Fck that not on a street car. I'm not a ricer I like my car to drive nice.

On your PS2 you probably potholed or hammered them apart driving under-inflated. I've never had problems with the 3 sets if Michelins I've been on. On the cheaper tires I've had a few out of the box with radial pulls.

They install PS2's as OEM on cars designed to go 200MPH + with no compromises. There's a reason for that.

Also, 50% of the grip? How do you figure? Where did you get that statistic?
