1997 C36 For Sale on Ebay.
Is this a members car? I always love the 97 C36, you get the 5spd auto tranny and the updated interior! Id love to buy one later down the line when I start collecting the 90's model Benz's. Ill park it between my 500E and my current C43.

22 X3, 21 330e, 97 M3, 97 C36 (sold), but on the hunt for a clean, low-mile C43!
Beautiful! Looks just like mine.~
Not to start a C36 vs. C43 debate, but yeah, something about the 36 makes it look so classy, yet sporty. I think it's the subtle chrome trim around the entire car along the side moldings and bumpers. Also, the front airdam is more aggressive looking than the C43, just because of how the bottom slopes outward like a splitter. And the rear bumper almost looks like a very subtle body kit, the way the bottom skirts out. Not sure why MB didn't retain all these body features for the C43?

I think the C43 is more muscle all around, bigger engine and the updated body actually made the car look bigger too. More softer edges and I cant get enough of either car really. They are both simply amazing. I went with the C43 because the V8 sound it AMAZING and its so EZ to drop a real motor (5.4 M113) into it and make it that car it always should have been.
P.s. arent we all still waiting for to get rid of the BMW in your sig??? Where are the C36 pix already!?

LOL, yes yes, I know!! I didn't think anyone was keeping track, haha. I've been busily collecting all the parts I need so I can do all the mods at once...never did like doing things in piece meal. So far, I have the HID kit, clear corners, wheels, and grill. I am still waiting to save enough money to get the suspension (H&R springs & Bilstein Sports), tint, and pull out a few small dings, then I'll be ready for a real photoshoot!!

Here are a couple pix of what purports to be a C36 dressed as a C43. I think these are official AMG pix, I found them on the web long ago.

Not to sound negative, I know 2 people with C36s and they are nice although VERY dated looking, feeling especially the interior. The engine sounds like a diesel and im told this is normal which to me is ridiculous and appreciate my 43's V8 everytime I hear a 36.

Oh, I ended up getting it off ebay...I forget the exact listing as there are numerous, but it's something like the one linked below. It was around $80 I think for just the insert. The grill itself fit fine, although like 2 or 3 of the screws won't fit, requiring you to either bend/cut some steel behind the surround or just leave it as is (it's pretty secure).
