Couple Qs

Have any of you used fuel injection cleaner products, i.e. GumOut, STP, or even Chevron's FuelTech? If so, how did it perform? I recently replaced my fuel filter and plugs, so I wanted to run some good fuel injection cleaner thru the system to ensure a good flush. But I had heard some horror stories about the stuff making engines ping and/or misfire. Any truth to this?

Second question, where the hell can I find some Mobil 1 0W40 in the 5 qt bottles?? Walmart has just about every weight, except that one! Ugh...

1.) Only thing I would use (and have used) is Chevron's Techron fuel system cleaner (make sure to get the concentrate). You can get it for under $10 and the stuff really works, I noticed a difference in performance (very slight) and gas mileage (more noticeable). I did an exhausting amount of research on this subject and the majority of the stuff out there is snake oil.

2.) The oil you can get off amazon.com if you can't find it anywehere else...

$50.39 for a 6-pack of 1 qt bottles?! How is that a good deal? That's $8.39 a bottle, which is far more expensive than just buying them at Walmart or even at any auto parts store (i.e. Autozone, Kragen, etc.)!

Its USD 13/ Liter here in Lebanon!!!!! and i didnt like the Mobil 0W40 on the 36 / too thin and oil pressure drops alot on hot summer days. Alarming drop btw, noticed on many other cars ranging from mercs to bmw and mitsubishi EVOs. we all switched to thicker oil. and now all is fine.

I use Wintershal 5W50 RACING. Amazing oil. minimal consumption, no lifter issues cold or hot. Oil temp and pressure is constant, and oil looks fresh even after 5000 km of heavy abuse.

I never said it was a "good deal", I just posted a place where you could get it if you were unable to find it...

I have read about seafoam and I don't think I would use it, there is something that scares me about using a product that stalls my car and then makes it BILLOW smoke out the tail pipes....

I'm in So CA, so thanks, but no thanks...not gonna drive 6+ hours to buy oil. But your Walmart store must be the only one in the country that carries M1 0W40 in 5 qt jugs, as I checked with like 8 stores here in So CA, and NONE of them carry it (only single quart bottles).

Do Injector Rehab, they send you back a nice graph to show how they flow after the sonic cleaning.

Hmm...that can't be right, I was just at Kragen this past Sunday to drop off some used oil and I looked at their oil pricing. It was like $7.49 or so for M1 0W40?
