Anyone ever heard of Nexen Tires?

The original owner put them on my car and they ride very rough around town. I feel every freaking bump in the road. Anyone else used these? Im running N5000's

Here are some less than positive reviews of nexen tires:

Tire Review: NEXEN TIRE 17 Inch

by Steve
(Syracuse, NY)
I hit a pothole while driving using Konig after- market 17 inch rims with Nexen tires. The right front tire blew. (Nissan Sentra 2.0L Model S).

Fortunately the Nissan Dealer had some insurance on the tire. So limping in with the spare on on a Friday afternoon I had the front tire replaced.

That following Sunday I took my car to the manual car wash with to clean off my tire and goop that was left on and noticed that the letters on the sidewall started to separate.

I immediately went in to the Nissan Dealer where I bought my car and he insisted that I must have hit something. I told him I was home all weekend working on my car and only drove it from the dealer to my home and the to the car wash.

What was weird was that the lettering on the sidewall was separating in 2 different directions. In addition I pointed out there were no scrape marks on the side walls which would indicate that I endured a case of curb rash.

I had to pay Nissan who said the dealer would refund them and Nissan would refund me if it was a manufacturing fault. Which I believe it was.

I will not buy this brand again.

Tire Review: Nexen - P351

by jim
(schenectady,ny)
The worst tires I ever purchased in my life!

I bought these Nexen tires(235/60R17), new, and I had them for 14 months, 21,000 miles, had them rotated EVERY oil change, and sadly, these garbage tires are left with 2/32 of tread on them. I do not recommend these tires to ANYONE!

These tires were on a 2007 Hyundai Entourage, NOT a sports car. This company must use the cheapest materials, maybe recycled garbage.

I called the company about this, and they could care less. BUYER BEWARE!

Nexen N3000

by ERIC
(ORLANDO,FL.)
I bought a set of Nexen 3000 tires about 3 months ago.

Two days ago I noticed a bubble on inside of one of my tires. So I took it to the dealer and they told me it's not covered on warranty "due to impact of a pot hole or etc".

Then I called CORP. they told me the same thing, so I told him this is the first and last set, I'm going back to YOKOHAMA's!

Nexen N-5000

by Tony
(Rockville, MD)
I have had this tire and have found they are not a good tire for vehicles which require a V rating, despite the fact these tires are V rated.

I have replaced all four tires twice due to bumps appearing in the sidewalls. The first time occurred on the the two rear tires. A month after replacing the front two tires had the same sidewall bumps. I chalked this up initially to a bad batch. This changed when two months later the bumps appeared on the two tires on the right side of the vehicle. Then a third bump appeared on the left front tire on the way to the tire shop.

I asked all four be replaced instead of waiting to come back for the fourth one. Now, another three months later I have another bump on the front left tire. I am going back to the Michelin Primacy tires on my Mazda 6 Wagon.

I do a lot of highway driving as a commuter, I do not race the car or hit a lot of potholes to blame the driver in this case.

michelin PS3's are a very comfortable tyre very good and quiet for those low speed bumps and corrigated roads. but you pay a premium for that quality and comfort

PS2's all the way Quite, grips well in dry and wet, no tram lining, good wear: 2x rears for 1x fronts. Will probably go for PS3's next time I need to change, meaning this spring when I get my Lady out of hibernation.

Well, even at that price that looks reasonable. A full set in 17" here costs me around $1500.- equivalent and that includes an 50% approx reduction in retail price
