Transmission swap E55 into C43 feedback
I had some of you interested in how the E55 Transmission worked with my C43. Well after getting my car back I have had few dry days to try out.
I am no expert here but I do notice a big difference in the cars pick up. Its shifts smooth and aggressive. I find the ESP wants to kick in a lot more now. W mode seems to be required more. I don't think its me.
The car drives great and I am thankful I kept it after the attacks I have had on it.
As for the accident (3 days later). Its fixed up, even better than before. I had em paint the hood over and fix a minor dents on hood, & drivers fender that was there prior. I held back on that info as the weather shows no mercy for some presentable pics.

Hold up
Transmission is acting up. Engine light came on with a P0700 code. We reset it and nothing came back on. I checked the trans oil levels with the dipstick tool and it seemed OK.
However, its slowly driving goofy. Today I was in drive at a light. Light rurned green and nothing. I shut off and restarted and it was able to drive.
I took a look underneath. Looks like a leak. Yay...FML.

I reset the ECU via "This can be reset by "turning key to ON, pressing throttle to floor,
wait 5 secs, turn key OFF, release pedal, wait 2 minutes.
No noticeable change.

I think there is some way to reset the TCU by switching the W/S switch back and forth a couple times, I could be wrong...

did you get a new one under warranty or bought a used one?
F--k was it a lemon trans?
leak might come from the pilot bushing on the conductor plate?
does it leak from the front of the trans?

OK maybe not as bad as I feared. Well so far this is the diagnosis...Seems I had 2 minor-ish wear items pop up at the same time.
One: is the oil test valve. When the gasket goes it spews lots. Minor part issue.
Two: The electrical portion of the Transmission has a plug near the Trans oil pan. A leak was on the pan and it was trans oil. Most of the leak was oil, but looked bad. That plug is the suspect area for it leaking.
I am an idiot and checked the transmission level with my shiny new $80- dipstick....but I unknowingly checked the engine cold. So the reading was off. It did need fluid.
So hopefully its a mere fluid level and a minor fix to seal the drip back.
So far since I drove it 30 minutes or so, it had no issues. I have a long drive tomorrow and will know soon if this is the issue. Moneyone is gonna take her in and hopefully resolve these issues.
Thank God for Moneyone
BTW Spoiler Alert...well all I will say is he is contemplating on making his beast even faster.

The E55 Trans has a year warranty from the salvage yard. It had 20k miles on it. The conductor plate was going to be the next idea if the above isn't it.

What is MIA? Medical intervention absence? Sorry for my ignorance but I'm not used to certain abbreviations

Just and Update for anyone in the future doing research.
The leak is due to a bad Transmission front pump. I am just a lucky guy what can I say. Its leaking about 1 qt per 300 miles or so. I hope to fix by next Sat. At this point its a daily check of ATF fluid and adding if needed.
