priority is steering response and dry grip, have great suspension mods and carving mountain roads is a my passion. ive tried star specs , so3, sport maxx, gsd3, etc. average 7-8kmiles per set, unfortunately, i have an ill family member with significant medical bills, so must scale back to $100 per tire category, hopefully, down the road re11 or yoko a08 will find a way onto the sled. thanx , mike

I have went through the Falken 615 and Hankook V12's on my C63. I am currently running Hankooks now and I have to say they are great tires for the price, very comfortable and they have better grip then the stock Pirelli Pzeros which are 2 twice as expensive.
The Flakens have GREAT grip once broken in, and have good response, really good tire for canyon driving. The only downside is that they wear out quick and have 0 grip once worn down.
I would say go with the Hankooks. They are very well priced, good treadwear, and great grip.

Not saying that they are the greatest but I didn't think they were that bad.
What would you recomend in there place?

they are good in hot weather, but with a bit of rain you are aiming at the curb. and they got loud after 2K miles. The S. Drive's will stay quiet to the wires. Had 3 sets of them!
