priority is steering response and dry grip, have great suspension mods and carving mountain roads is a my passion. ive tried star specs , so3, sport maxx, gsd3, etc. average 7-8kmiles per set, unfortunately, i have an ill family member with significant medical bills, so must scale back to $100 per tire category, hopefully, down the road re11 or yoko a08 will find a way onto the sled. thanx , mike

Sorry to hear about your ill family member I hope they get well soon.
I have went through the Falken 615 and Hankook V12's on my C63. I am currently running Hankooks now and I have to say they are great tires for the price, very comfortable and they have better grip then the stock Pirelli Pzeros which are 2 twice as expensive.
The Flakens have GREAT grip once broken in, and have good response, really good tire for canyon driving. The only downside is that they wear out quick and have 0 grip once worn down.
I would say go with the Hankooks. They are very well priced, good treadwear, and great grip.

I have had the falkens 19" on my bmw for the last 2 years, even in the snow with know issues.
Not saying that they are the greatest but I didn't think they were that bad.
What would you recomend in there place?

Falken 452's ( I had them in 19") were the worst tires I have ever owned, they tramlined like you wouldn't believe and felt like I was riding around on Fred Flinstone tires made of granite. I switched them out for Toyo Proxes 4's and can't even begin to tell you the difference, was like night and day. I will NEVER buy a falken product again...

I've run the 452s before on my old Saab, and was pretty pleased with them. They are a decently priced mid performance tire. Can't compete with the RE11 though. I've also got a pair of Falken Eurowinters on the front of my C43 right now. I hit a massive pothole a couple months back, killed one of my Contis. I didn't want to wait a week for new Contis to arrive from the US, so I grabbed the Falkens locally. Can't complain. Before the Bridgestone RE01R came along, the Falken Azeni was the top dawg for affordable performance tires.

ive always had good luck with kuhmo tires, they copy compound formulas from bridgestone and yokohama. i sold tons of them when i had my rim shop and had great feedback from some very picky customers. that said, hankook has been getting consistantly better for the last couple years. i would stay away from the lower end falkens, we dropped them as a sponser because of inconsistant quaility. just my 2 cents.
