C43 AMG 5.5 - 396.4HP
You should insert a 1.5mm spacer between disc and hub for front wheels. It will also reduce the height of the centering cylinder that could bring some vibration (depending on your wheel).

Those + the drilled front + Akebono pads rip my face off under heavy braking.

The 99 C43 front rotors were directionally vented, I would be surprised if the 98's were not...

As well as the c230k 330 x 28 option they do a c230k AMG sport 345 x 30 which would appear to be a closer match to the original c43 334 x 32.

Based on the positive looking feedback I've seen regarding the 330 x 28 fit I'm going to give these AMG options a try. Other than these the ultimot rotors look the best like for like replacement so have them down as plan B.
I still like the original type II wheels with their retro classic look so my rotors will not be on show as much but still nice to have for the discerning eyes out there

I agree for the Monos II and in 18" ![Yumyum](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/yumyum.gif)
Ultimot drilled rotors were my plan A and will be installed probably next week
I confirm they are OE rotors but drilled for Ultimot. They even do drilled rear rotors. If I had not purchased the standard 300mm
I would have taken these from Ultimot too

I wanted to check ultimot turnaround times and how much extra it is to ship to the Uk but my web browser gets errors translating their web site to English. So for now its nice knowing they exist.
I do believe cheap costs you twice in the long run and the last thing you want to be cutting corners on are your brakes but I've read enough to give these Apecs a try plus I've been promised next day delivery.
Regarding the type II wheels...I've tried different wheels over the years but always end up putting these back on....18's of course

My thinking is if they can replace the 330 x 28 rotors on a c230k then unless anyone can advise differently they should be good to go on a c43 as well.
Cheers.

Have you thought about the calipers? Going from 334 to 345 rotors may be too much for the caliper to clear the exterior of the rotor without interference. I'll look up the Ultimot reference numbers soon...
So here goes with the Ultimot references:
BS959 Rear rotors drilled 300 x 22mm at 193 Euros a pair (including VAT)
BS242 OE Front rotor (non drilled) 334 x 32mm at 465 Euros a pair (including VAT)
BS315 OE Front rotor drilled 334 x 32mm at 520 Euros a pair (including VAT)
VAT will be deducted from the price if parts are for export outside the European Community.

Yes very good point Zayed/DMR and I did raise this with the seller as my concern was wouldn't AMG spec rotors come with complementary AMG calipers. They said as far as they know the AMG spec rotor fit the c230k without having to change the caliper.
I did wonder whether this was just salesmen plying their trade but to be fair to them whether bigger or smaller they are not supportive of the whole idea of putting c230k rotors on a c43 period and are quite intrigued to get feedback on how things work out.....maybe the standard c230k caliper is built with the necessary clearance to begin with.
I suppose my real danger is even if they appear to physically fit they'd really need to be driven to see how they perform which of course will violate the returns policy not to mention any other potential issue like the friction you mention, reduced lifespan or just fail to brake in general.
I haven't bought them yet so could still knock it on the head and get the 330 x 28's instead or just go where my heart really is and get the ultimots.

Ultimot seem to want a money transfer directly into a bank account as opposed to a secure payment like a credit card so again not worth the risk but the tax gain is quite attractive

I've just returned home so can now babysit this install more. The Apecs should be on the car by tomorrow so will provide feedback on fit and performance if they make it that far. At less than £53 + VAT each they're looking like a real bargain.

True, you need to transfer funds to their bank account before shipment of the product. This is common practice with plenty of sellers and you sometime can negotiate a reduction in price as the seller has little or no charges to pay contrary to using a credit card or PayPal. Also, with electronic banking it is so easy. A couple of clicks and the money is transferred safely. In the case of Ultimot, the shipment was on the road 48h after I transfered the the funds ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I've done some miles to let them bed in a bit and no longer see the 'fumey hot mist' when braking hard from speed. Will keep an eye on it but worst case I'll try some apec c43 pads.
If these rotors and pads have truly married then its really now a matter of seeing how durable they are and their productive lifespan though even if just for the short term these look perfect with the added bonus of since seeing them on eBay for £85 a pair and getting a price match - that's a saving of more than £400 against ultimot.
The Mercedes originals look to have come down since buying my last pair. I've been quoted £250 per rotor by the main dealer.
