eclectic assortment of cars
I'm guessing the supercharger and all its accountrements probably adds another 75-100 lbs. I'm guessing, but the charger kit for my S2000 is probably right in that area, with the single heaviest item being the charger itself, but then you get into the heat exchanger, water pump, plus the intercooler/charger cooler itself. I'm thinking the charger used by HPS is heavier than the Vortech in the kit for my S2000, but that's speculation.

Adds up quick, but the benefits are clearly more tangible than the weight problem.

A C63 weighs near on 4000lbs, right? So ~3600ish vs. 4000lbs sound about right?

yea I think I gained weight somehere around that range. I also gained about 80lb over couple of years and I weigh 250lb lol. Best mod for my c43 is probably me going on a diet program
The torque curve goes up very steep from 0 to 3500rpm then it goes flat to max rpm.
I have a dyno sheet with 350whp/365tq but that was when there was no pcv re-routing and it was burning evaporized engine oil. I'll get the dyno with oil catch can installed next time i stop by the shop. Do you still want the sheet?? you can still see the cuve
I don't have a scanner so don't expect good quality pics

Here's the dyno!!
This one looks like 360 ftlb torque
I've seen better numbers than this the next day when the density altitude was 4000ft. It was freakin 105F on last Friday in AZ!!

9 psi huh well not a good idea. I had a 2.5" SC pulley and made 10 psi then 9psi now 8 psi (bigger pulley) which is cool. when I had higher psi I almost blew the block it's too much psi for 10:1 unless you have internals. You can also get SC over spin and get less power with smaller pulley.

how do you "almost blow the block"??? something either goes or it doesn't, right?

I agree that 10 is a lot of psi with our compression ratio.

I'm sticking with my 6 psi or so- fast enough for me and hopefully more reliable.

Thank you!! I'll keep that in mind
The car at this moment runs great with no pre-ignition or detonation, and no oil leak
Did you notice power difference when you went from 10psi to 8psi??
Does SC over spin mean vacuum inside the SC??

Happy motoring!!

A supercharger is an air pump and all pumps have efficiency curves (such as the torque curve on an internal combustion engine) and there is a point of diminishing returns, ie once you have passed the point of peak efficiency. You can pass that point by spinning a supercharger too fast and you end up creating a lot of heat rather than usable compressed air.

I could feel that the car was being pushed to hard with 10psi and at 9psi. As my tech told me if I continued to drive it with the high psi something would brake.

At 8 psi I have much more power then 10psi. when I had 10psi I was putting out 390 rwhp now with 8 psi and some fine tuning I put out 436 rwhp. The car pulls very hard but in a good way, lol I must say I love the look on M3 and C63 owers faces after I smash them. I do need to rebuild the tranny when it brakes with custom racing parts. You might have to do the same down the road. hope this helps.

How is your hp and tq curve on the dyno with 8psi?? similar to 10psi??
I guess my SC is overspinning as well since we have same one
Have you tried lower boost than 8psi??
I was thinking of doing manual swap when my AT goes, but mine's holding strong still

p.s. Did you install cam and tb all together with SC??
I havent had chance to meet any e92 m3 or c63 yet but I scored one rustang gt and a 350Z hehe. I know it wasn't much of challenge but the look on their faces were priceless.

I would love that. I'm coming out for a few weeks in late May/early June
