OK Really?!
So I'm sitting at the light to the freeway entrance and a mini cooper is behind. He looks at his rearview mirror and decides to pull up next to me and my old benz. I'm thinking "really you just did that?" - and it's a turbo cooper. Light turns green he hammers it and i just launch onto the freeway - so my point is this: These mini cooper guys are always wanting to race it seems - what do they tell them at the dealership? I was in my brothers lambo the other day on Mulholland Hwy and this mini cooper tried to curb sneak him at Las Virgenes signal. Really?! Anyhow, I find this fascinating...

A stock JCW mini will run a 6.2 0-60 and a 1/4 mile time of 14.5 seconds, that's with a SKILLED driver operating the 6 speed manual. Unless your running against Mario Andretti in a stock JCW mini or a SUPED up JCW mini with someone who is at least a DECENT driver, a C43 will SMOKE one EVERY time.
I will say this, there was a post a while ago where a CLK63 BS ran against a hopped up JCW mini and got SMOKED (they did a couple pulls and the BS got beat every time but after a couple pulls the cooper needed to quit as he was running HOT!!)
Moral of the story is you never know what they got under the hood (or in the trunk as the case may be) but there is no doubt that a stock mini (even the top of the line JCW mini) cannot hang with the C43 never mind a Lambo

When I had JCW Mini, I never wanted to race anybody. It feels really fast and has decent power for the size, but that's only the feel not the actual speed. It sure is a fun solid machine but nothin I would race or mess around with other cars...

Seems we have similar tastes! I had an '02 MINI Cooper S with JCW package. What a great steer! The supercharger whine always seemed to encourage one to drive faster.
