A/C Help

My ac was broke, so I had the compressor, dryer, and expansion valves replaced with all OEM parts. However, I still feel that it is not working properly. Im getting cool air, but not cold air. Yes, I know it takes awhile for a car with black interior thats been sitting in 95 degree temp for hours to cool down, but even after getting in it and driving it for 10 mins, its still hot im my car and the air coming from the vents is cool...not cold, almost as its just venting outside air. I've checked the refrigerant and its still fully charged. What could be the issue? Anyone know?

Are you sure the compressor is working correctly? What about your pollen filter? Dry air canister? I'm not an A/C specialist, but I have had problems with the c240T: changed compressor, condenser etc. at the local MB garage. Works perfectly since 2 years now

I believe it is...this is my second compressor within a year because the first one was aftermarket and not OEM and the MB dealership said I had a bad compressor and that I need to get the DENSO OEM compressor....so I did. Its hard to believe I would get two bad compressors back to back. As far as my pollen filter...is that the same as the cabin air filter? If so, I have replaced that. What is the dry air canister?

You definitely have an issue as the A/C in my C43 is ICE cold.

Go to this webpage. The page has instructions that will tell you how to display the AC diagnostic codes. Post those codes in this thread and either myself or someone else may be able to help.

The less information you supply, the less help anyone can give you. It sounds like you don't have a U.S. vehicle, so which is the car from and which AC system do you have?

A US spec C43 climate control unit looks something like the attached photo. He says he has "no codes". Pressing and holding the rest button on an automatic climate control unit will display diagnostic codes. Many Euro spec cars don’t have the automatic climate control. They have manual climate control. Having manual climate control would explain the lack of codes.

I have one like that and its European, but with less buttons. I think the US and ROW all came with the led screen control module. The one in the picture looks like one from a CLK no?

all euro C43's have this digital HU.
cheaper versions of w202 mostly have manual AC, no reading codes on this AC

If he has the auto AC controller, and he pressed and held the REST button, and the unit didn't go into diagnostic mode ("no codes"), then "I think" his controller may be broken. Does anyone have an automatic/digital HVAC controller that can't go into diagnostic mode with the REST button? Either way, his AC should be able to get the car ice cold. That's a infrared pyrometer in the photo. It's good for explaining to service writers that the air coming out of the vents in car "a" isn't quite as cold as car "b".

Chels97 - #7 tells you the Freon pressure. When it's zero, it's usually empty.

I'm no AC tech, but if the pressure sensor is bad, it may fool the system into thinking there is no Freon when the system is full.
