C43 problem with idle in D

Hi,

I have this intermittent problem with my C43 ( -98 ). When I stop for example at a red light it feels like the engine goes at a very rough rpm, almost like it should be misfiring. When I move the stick from D to N, the idle ups a little bit and the problem almost disappears. It does not always behaves like this but it seems to be more frequent now during the warmer period. Sometimes it will even get the car into limp home mode but it will be reset immediately when I stop and start the car. The car will also sometimes feel a bit 'jumpy' when running at a stable speed and low torque ( like in city traffic at lower speed ). Maybe jumpy is the wrong expression but it is like if the accelerator pedal has some noisy connections to the ECU , I hope you understand what I mean.

I recently changed the MAF but it didn't fix anything. I have not done anything else besides the former owner changed a few coils. I have done some diagnostic which gave ME errors 0605,0300,0305,0307,0306 ( the diagnose was done before MAF swap ).

Any ideas?

Have you done your motor mounts? Obviously they will not throw codes but it sure makes the car feel like its going to implode when they are shot.

Most likely the LHS upper o2 sensor is failing as the faults are only related to that bank of cylinders (5,6,7,8). Change the upstream o2 sensor on that side, disconnect the battery for 10mins and retry. Also make sure your air filter box is properly fitted to the air mass meter whilst you're there.

That was my thought too and yesterday I received a package from Autohaus with two new sensors. I'm going to change the sensors on Sunday so keep your fingers crossed.

Good decision to change both sensors at the same time. You can be sure that if you change only one, the other will let go shortly after.

The car is now top notch. Running like a dream. All the original 306 bhp is back and kickin' in whenever neded.

I have changed both o2 sensors and all spark plugs. I also changed the air filters and even the CPS. The problem was a combination of faulty spark plugs and a bad oxygen sensor. All left is an oil change and the car is as good as new

The spark plugs was not that much of a problem to change but the driver side o2 sensor was a real pain in the *** to change as my hands are not that small...

Thank's for all help.
