unitrax who sells the wavetrac lsd is working with autotech who manufactures the wavetrac and thru them the slk32 /crossfire srt-6 gang has made a group buy. the units took over a yr to develop and build and now we are seeing the fruits of the hard work done by so many great car guys. the initial build is moving along after the first group is done the unit will be sold by needswings for those that didnt get it in on the buy the first time.

now why would i post it here? seems thru a search for the 2 piece stub axles for unitrax i found the c43 appears to have the same differential as the slk32!! i informed devin at unitrax nad he will be researching this over the weekend. if in fact we share the same diff you now have the possibility of buying a true genuine limited slip torque biasing diff assembly for 1/3 the cost of a new oem diff!! the diff is guaranteed for life and good to 1000rwhp. should be enough for you guys!

soo if anyone is interested contact unitrax in cali and ask for devin. maybe give him a couple weeks to find out for sure this will work in your cars. i hope it does.
if anyone can give me the part # of the diff housing in the c43 i will give it to devin to cross reference

The EPC lists 2 parts numbers:

C43 differential housing with differential part# = A 202 350 97 14

Housing part# = 210 351 08 05

Please keep us informed

I've already backtracked all the part numbers and it should work.

I put in a pre-production order late last year knowing it would take amost 12 months to get, I've been told it should be ready for delivery in the next few weeks. I'll definately be posting pics/review once it arrives.

there are 22 orders in front so it may take more than a few weeks. the units are being built now with a tenative completetion of late june.

hoontastic you are looking at approx. 1050 for the diff and another 225$ if you elect unitrax to install the unit in your housing. add shipping of approx 75$ each way and the total is under 1500$

$1425 is a GREAT price, I wish I didn't have as many plans as I do now as my money is tied up for the next 6 months EASY.

Are they going to continue to produce these diff's or is this a single run type of thing?

at first we thought it would be a 1 time thing but now that needswings is a supplier it seems they will make them as ordered. not sure what the lead time will be though. rob also carries the prefered oil for the diff

remember the emphasis for now is getting the initial g/b built and installed into the cars. then anyone who buys a unit will be competeing for build time with every other car they build for like we did. srt-8 and mustangs are also being built at this time so material is in short supply. a 2nd g/b would most likly be the best way to move ahead !

well overreacting would be what i think they are. i knew you guys were in the same boat as the slk32 guys regarding a diff. i get zip out of this except knowing i helped someone get something few others have. my other forums are more concerned with the members getting what they need.

my diff is in the hands of unitrax and awaiting the wavetrac to be delivered to the shop for the install. i should have it back by next weekend if all goes according to plan.

well my diff arrived today!! install this weekend and then once my calipers get back from powdercoat install them and head to the track for the real test. not much to see unitrax did the install of the actual unit so it is shimmed properly and backlash is set also. so all i have to do is reinstall it in the car. the plaque says it all!! total with oil shipping install and the unit was 1500$ not too shabby!
maybe someone can confirm this diff is the same as yours. if it is you now have the option of a full lsd!

I posted a thread about this group buy last year and it was erased in 10 minutes and I got an infraction for non sponsor advertising. I understand but when I started searching the posts of the admin that slapped my wrist, most of what I found were for sale threads. Ironic.

Mine was installed today and I'm hitting the road course Sunday.

I emailed Unitrax to see if this LSD will work with our C43's, below is the response I got:

Thank you for your inquiry into UNITRAX Drivetrain, Inc.

"We offer the Wavetrac Helical limited-slip differential for the SLK 32. If yoiuy differential has the same requirements as the SLK 32, then the c-clip area of the output shafts will need some minor machining. The c-clips will be replaced with an o-ring and a circlip.

The Wavetrac with the o-rings and the circlips is $1199.00 (US) plus shipping.

Please contact us if you have any questions."

Pretty sure we have confirmed that this will work with our C43's so $1200 for an LSD is a pretty good deal. I believe the total price to ship your diff to them and have it installed and shipped back is around $1500

I will be doing this mod after I have my new exhaust and tune so I can take FULL advantage of the new power

Yep, they fit in, the shafts need a little machining as the c-clips are thicker than the std ones.

so do they do the machining as part of that price or is that something that has to be subbed out?
