The Tip. shifter is smaller than the one we have,, that’s why the hole for the Tip. has to be smaller in the console it self,, did you compare the

size between them....??

If you can take the gear harness from the same car that you took the Tip. shifter from, it will be a great idea, and that will short it to us.....

The cable goes from the Tip. shifter to the Steering ignition lock,,

The new Tip. linkage you have, is only to plug-off the hole for the cable, no need it for the Tip. shifter,, to plug it-off,

you need also to get a cover & O-ring & washer,,

The shifter Rod should be replaced, cause the distance in the Tip. shifter lever is different than the one we have....

Ok the linkage with the spring is that a tool then?

Has the ignition lock already got a place where it will fit?

Why do i need cover and o ring for? Is that needed for cable?

Linkage is the one with a Spiral dark Red rubber,, you should to cover it, to avoid an oil leak from that area,,

The cable comes from the ignition to the Tip. shifter it self,, but in our cars is comes from the ignition to the back of the gear,

connected to the Linkage,, the Linkage need to be covered with a Tip. shifter only,,

*The lock Cable is only for the safety reason, don’t have to install it if you don’t want it.....

Now am confused three things were are talking about one is the shifting rod second is cable and third linkage. Shifting rod should be straight forward cable should be straight forward as you say dont have to put it on but i am putting it on as i have purchased one. Is there a cable already there in the ignition lock? The one i am confused with is the linkage as i have understood its a tool am i correct?

Yes the shifting Rod is straight forward,,

Yes there is a cable in your car now,, but it goes to the back of the gear, you have to cancel it with a Tip. shifter swap,,

Linkage is not a tool,, you need to put it in the back of the gear to covered the hole....
