W202 Engine Swap??

Does anyone know what motors will fit into a W202 chassis? What is the biggest motor that will fit? The C55 is the same motor that is in the E55 right? will those two fit? and will a '99 S500 motor fit? If anyone can tell me which engines and from what models and years will fit into the W202, I would appreciate it. Thanks. Any comments or ideas where to find engines also welcome.

I will smoke you both as soon as we hit a couple of corners. Just look to the left as I drive by you on the outside.

No doubt Jeff. Liek the saying goes: "Power without control is nothing."

But, you keep revealing you're secrets to us. You are probably a much better track person too.

One of these days...(shakes fist)....I'll get you Mister! LOL!

BRABUS 5.8L V8, but in any engine swap, you would have to swap the tranny too..

I think I'm the only person running a 5.0... mine is a hybrid of sorts though with the AMG upper.

It's certainly plug and play though- just not much to gain from the straight 4.3 to 5.0 swap.

Please elaborate.

Did you use the 5.0l non-AMG block and rotating assembly (crank, pistons) but then use AMG heads and cams? What engine did the heads come from?

I'm really curious as to how you did it and what kind of power it's making. A guy local is selling an S500 motor for $400 with very few miles. This is an interesting idea since I have 278k on my 4.3 and would like to yank it out for a complete rebuild and then store it.

Yeah yeah, I'm weird. I'd like to do a swap but keep my original numbers-matching engine, JUST IN CASE an all original C43 is worth something some day

2001 - 2002 facelift w210 E55AMG engines with low compression, do they fit c43 electronics without problems?
or is a 1998 or 1999 E55 engine more suitable for 1998 -1999 cars?

I did not know the later model w210 E55's had lower compression. Since it's the later years I would assume they did this for good reason?

hey bro
i believe newer engines had lower comp for better fuel economy

if i put a 5.4litre engine in my c43, doesn't oilpan from this engine clear my front axle or can i use the c43 oilpan instead?

I have never heard that lowering the compression decreased consumption. I would think the higher the compression the better burn of combustion, higher power and cleaner emissions.

last year engine models for w210 e55 had updated engines for better fuel economy, it was not only lower comp, there were some other stuff improved

if i find an engine i will definately use the w210 e55 engine from a 2001 or 2002 car.
using my stock c43 oilpan for w210 engine wouldn' be a clearence problem would it?

I am running the AMG heads on up on what I think is a 2006 m113 5.0 block.

I didn't do the work and I also run a modified HPS Gen 1.

My car is pretty strong... does not always idle well (not a vacuum leak or other easy fix).
