C36 vs E39 540i
While I don't post here much anymore, I figured I'd share this with you guys.
Tonight I took my C36 out for a little drive, picked up some dinner and was headed home. I noticed an E39 BMW pull out ahead of me. He was driving fairly aggressively and I eventually caught up with him thanks to a few stop lights.
Notice it's a 540i, nothing too terribly special, but still respectably quick.
At the next red light he is 2 lanes over to my left and 2 cars behind me. I'm the first person in my lane so I give it some gas and let the (rather loud) exhaust catch his attention.
Sure enough, by the next stop light he is sitting right next to me with at least a mile of open road ahead of us.
Light turns green and he bites. He keeps up through 1st. Through 2nd gear he is fading. By 3rd he is about 2 car lengths behind me before he lets off the throttle.
The race put a smile on my face and reminded me why I still own this car despite the fact that I only drive it 2-3 days a month.

lol I use to have a C36 turbo back in the day that would give a M5 E60 a run for it's money. If your going to keep that car, put a few bucks into it and make it a turbo c36.

awesome
I had a similar run in with a 540i, he couldn't pass me even upto 120km/h until I exited the highway. Almost certain it was auto vs. stick.
Also interested in hearing about a turbo C36 set up.
