NEED HELP ON C43/E55
Hello Guys,
I need help on this..... I currently own a 2000 C43 and already done the suspension lowered, amg sills, 6 piston and 4 piston Brembo 355 brake package
18'' wheels. I have been looking for an E55 engine or the supercharger for the upgrade, Now for the dilemma I just purchased a 2001 E55 full loaded with 55000k on the clock all service records and mint condition, Should I keep the C43 as is and use the E55 as my daily driver or use the engine and transmission and put it in the C43 and install the C43 engine and trans into the E55 and then use that as my daily driver? Or just leave the C43 stock?
If I do the E55 swap I can still sell the E55 later and the swap won't have cost anything.
The C43 only has 85000 mlies and I drive it about 3000 km per year and is really just a toy.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF IT WAS YOU?
The E55 is really for winter and every weekend I do have another car I drive for work and I use my Ducati in summer.

Yes I intend to drive the E55
But the question was,
Should I swap the engine and trans and then use the E55 as a DD.
I actually bought the csr with the intention of using the engine and trans for the C43 and then use it as my DD.

I already spoke to kleemann and I can get the supercharger for 6000
But, won't it be nice to do the swap and then do the charger?
Sending out the diff to Unitrack to have that done so I can get the power to the ground.

They won't tell you this but the HPS and kleemann SC are almost the same, plus these systems work better on the 4.3 and 5.0 motors. I would keep the E55 stock and SC the C43 and later on I would rebuild the internals. But remember once you SC the C43 with 85k on the clock that motor will be done 30k miles down the road, so thats when you do new custom internals.

Thanks for the advice... I know this kind of topic has been discussed at length and I know that there are pros and cons among both.
Not sure how long it will take me to do 30,000 I only drove the car 1000. maybe 1500 km since I bought it
18 months ago.
I'll give this thread sometime and I'll figure it out with all of your help for sure I just want to do this the best way possible.
If you are not aware this happens to be the only 2000 C43 in Canada.

Does it have the tiptronic autobox? If so, you have a very rare and sought after model and I would not modify too much the car and engine. Go modify the e55 which is a less exclusive model. Just my 2 cents worth...

I'd leave the 55 in the E. If you swap drivetrains from one car to the other, the value of the E will be zero. No one in their right mind would buy an E55 with a 430 drivetrain.

So, after all your helpful comments I decided to leave the C43 the way it is and use the E55
for my evening and weekend car for the winter and rainy days.
Thank you all.
I just got back from the tire shop already installed winter tires.
Brakes will be done tomorrow and the beast will be ready for winter.

As for the last post
I bought the E55 for the winter so I don't really care about resale value.
It would have been nice if my 43 was a 99 engine would have been in there already and I don't need all the hp for winter.
When I do decide to get rid of the E55 it probably not worth much anyways.

Drive the E55 daily, S/C the C43 for sure.
