Talking Best upgrade for the C36? Add 2 more cylinders!!

No, I didn't go crazy and go all frankenstein on it, just upgraded to this!:

98 C43. 164xxx miles, designo, xenons, and all rusty and salty from it's previous life in Michigan and before that Chicago.
It's a forum car belonging to 600whpS4 and before that tasho. Definitely got to take care of some stuff on it, but looking forward to enjoying this one for a while!

Also the C36 will be sticking around for a little bit while I fix it up to sell, so I will definitely do some pulls with the two and compare them a ton. And get lots of pictures too of the two 202 AMGs. I feel like the luckiest guy around now!

Congrats!

Glad to see someone bought Adam's car. Ever since I met him back in September, I've been directing people to him who were interested in older AMGs.

Did you buy the 5.5 motor and trans from him too?

No I didn't. That'd be sick, but the little spending spree was pretty limited

Looking good. You put 3000k fogs? Tasho left a mess in the fog lights.

Congrats on the new additon, looking forward to seeing the real life comparison between the two cars. Please provide your initial impression of the differences and similarities.

I read that although the C36 is almost as quick as the C43 from 0-60, in real road driving conditions the C43 proves superior as a result of the additional torque and gearing.

I have driven a few c36s and a few c43s and the power is much more linear with the v8. I was surprised how good the c36 was at highway speeds though

Sure did. Went down there to find out why they weren't working, saw the mess of un-connected wires and figured why not stick in the HIDs that I had lying around.

43 vs 36 comparison coming soon. So far they seem like totally different creatures, and this is magnified by the stock, 14 year old monster truck suspension on the 43 plus a shaky steering wheel, and my vogtland/billy sport setup on the 36.

But a quick question, for someone like marcus maybe? Are the hubs different between the 36 and the 43? I know they have different brakes, but it seemed a little tough trying to fit my brabus reps on the 43 today, and I didn't want to destroy my parking brake like on the 36 because the lugs stick through the hub

According to the EPC they use the same hub which makes sense as there would really be no reason to change them that I can think of.
