Sorry people, but my spring wake up will have to wait. While working on the front brakes Friday afternoon, I suffered a heart attack:-S operated immediately upon arrival at the hospital and I have surfaced since. I AM writing this post from my hospital bed. Will be out of operations for a couple of weeks. DRBC43AMG signing out but will still be lurking around

WOW! I am glad to hear you made it out alive! I think I speak for everyone here when I say the spring wake up can wait while you recuperate.
Get well SOON

Yikes #1: I'm thrilled to hear that you survived the heart attack!!!
Take your time recuperating! We love you sharing your M-B experiences, but we will certainly be patient while we wait for your careful recovery!!
Yikes #2:
It looks like the bottom cup of your compressor is upside down!
As your above photo shows, the bottom cup is laying on the coil below it, but when the compressor was tightened, that bottom cup contacted the coil above it with the flat back of the cup. Maybe that's why it slipped?
I've attached two of my photos. The first has my compressor starting to compress the RF spring. Notice that the bottom cup has the coil above it seated in its cutout - reducing the potential of slipping. The second photo shows the spring compressed and ready to be removed.
To switch springs in the compressor, I clamped the top end of the compressed spring in my vise so my hands were free to simply loosen the compressor by spinning a ratchet. I then clamped the new spring in the vise, and ratcheted the compressor. It anything had slipped, my hands were nowhere near the cups.
(Should I take a photo or two of that process, and/or add a page to http://Kropf.net/w202/ for swapping springs? )

Kropf, I think you are right. Probably put the bottom cup upside down. Yikes I,m happy it didn't take my head off. Look at the picture which has the 2 springs (one normal the other compressed). That's the one which slipped.
On another note, I just wanted to thank you all for the kind words and wishes. I'll be back soon. Take care you all!!!

Kropf, I forgot to reply to the question of the procedure. Feel free to add it one in this thread. Guess it would be worthwhile for everyone

Hi everybody, I'm back
Again, many thanks to you all for your kind words and wishes for a speedy recovery.
Back at home since yesterday afternoon and two days quicker than what was scheduled. You may have seen I was hanging around these last days as I posted some comments from time to time, but they were "quickies" via my mobile.
As I'm back home I now have my laptop in front of me Back Friday before the "incident", I had finished assembling the front left brake and took some quick pictures before quitting for my lunch break. Came back, and started assembling the right hand front bakes. Had just put on the rotor when BANG the heart attack hit me Just for those who may be interested, at hospital I was 3 hours in surgery and they unblocked two of the three heart coronaries and installed six stents in the arteries.
Well, guess the wrenching will have to wait for some weeks, even if I feel super fine and even much better than the period prior the incident. I have to be careful as the wife is watching over me all the time like a hawk. I just quickly ran down to my cubby hole workshop to pick up the camera.
Take care everyone, watch what you eat (little grease, little salt) and do some exercise

My KW Variant 2 suspension arrived yesterday One very BIG and heavy parcel. I havn't been able to open it as the Missus is looking at me all the time to make sure I don't do something stupid. She's going shopping soon, so I may do a quick dash to peep inside. I'll defo make plenty of pictures for you people, so that you can see the quality of the products
Have not opened the parcel, but here is a picture showing ID# of the product for those interested. This may help people avoid having to search and dig around too much before finding...

Hauled the parcel up to the terrace this afternoon and opened the big box.
Some nice goodies inside
Looks like TOP class stuff and a booklet of instructions with the tool kit.
Enjoy

Wow, KW really does produce some fine-looking gear, don't they? Fit and finish, accoutrement, etc. Too bad you won't get to see such purdy parts after the install. How's the health, DRB?

DRB, sorry to hear about the health issues. I hope you have a speedy and full recovery.
I'm jealous of the KW's, they look awesome. Hopefully I can get a set in the not too distant future. As to the quality, Dodge elected to run KW's on the newest Viper ACR and that car is an absolute track monster. Almost 1.1G on the skid pad in stock form. Good stuff, I want some

The 24h Nurburgring race was run last week-end and a lot of cars had KW set-ups, so that surely speaks for itself.
I like the alu adjustable pads which fir under the springs. Only draw back will be that the springs need to be compressed each time to reach the adjusters. The shocks front and rear are adjustable on compression and rebound. Now that may need some time to dial in the ideal adjustment...
