Idling problem.....
Folks,
It happended to me a few times now. While sitting at the red light, the engine shakes violently as if the car wants to lunge forward. I held on to the brakes of course. The shaking disappears to regular idling after a few odd seconds.
Any ideas?

did it shake and feel like it almost engine wanted to die?
any lights come on in the cluster?
also what's your idle set to normally 600 rpm? or ...
hmmm what else was the car running hot or cold?
just a few things trying to narrow down possibilities

I had that happen a few times and brought it into my dealer. They plugged the OBD reader into the computer and said it was a O2 sensor going bad, which was causing the abnormal idling. After it was replaced, idling was much better, haven't had the problem since.

Interesting...my car had both O2 sensors replaced a month ago and is now experiencing the problem...
The engine did not feel like it's going to stall. Instead, the tranny feels like it wants to lunge the car forward. Idle RPM was normal and the engine was warm.
