slk 55 brake upgrade on c43

So after the 55 swap i decided it was time to step it up again. I figured what else is there left for this car. I figured it was time to start messing with the brakes. I installed the slk 55 6 piston calipers on the front and the 2 piece rotors that go along with these calipers. As for the rear i havent installed the rear i havent installed the parts yet but it will be the 4 piston set up for the slk also.

The install was pretty straight forward cut the backing plate, drill the hub to accept the newer larger bolt to hold rotor on, also i cut the sway bar mounting off and shortened sway bar to allow for clearance of the caliper to the sway bar. everything went ver smoothly and came out looking very nice.
sorry about the pictures click on the top and you can see them

much more solid pedal feel. the stock 43 brakes work well but i hated the brake pedal feel. the stock brakes are very touchy in my opinion and the braking is not very linear. This new brake set up really fixed that.

yes my monoblocks do not clear the front calipers i had to toss a 5mm spacer on there but i am having it machined down to either a 2 or a 3mm. but its all worth it i think. i am very happy with the outcome. i daily drive the car so its nice to have some good braking with the added power

<------------ Jealous

I don't think I will ever do this mod unless I turn my C43 into a track car, none the less I LOVE the look of the caliper

Agreed, That’s a great brake mods...., like the shape & stop distance,,

Do you relocate the mount of the sway bar bracket...?, it should be, to give you more clearance when you L/F turning,

and cut the sway bar end about 25mm,

see this value link from our friend "Money-one":- https://mbworld.org/forums/c36-amg-c...small-car.html

The SLK55 Rears are soo simply either, just do the cut of the protection plate(like you did in fronts),

All things will bolt-on easily....

i did the same as money one i cut the sway bar and relocated the mount. this was best way to have steering be the same as stock. it was simple but obiously there is cutting and welding required

no worries. now im facing issues of wheel clearance issues. i have 18 inch monoblock 2 wheels. i ordered 3mm h and r spacers and am going to see if these will work. the 5mm ones are not able to allow the wheel to sit on the hub and i need the wheel sitting on the hub so the wheel is sitting correctly to avoid stress and vibrations in the car. hope fully the 3mm spacers will allow this to happen

You can reducing the Rim off-set, by grinding it around "3-5mm",

of course depends of your Rims off-set style,, or you can use the 5mm spacer with Rim hub sitter:-

the 5mm h and r spacers that you show here actually do not have the rim sitter thing for the wheel to sit on. i actually have those spacers, as far as the other ones that you show that are 10 mm thats obiously to much the offset on my wheels in the front is 31. i dont thing i want to modify my wheels (yet) all i need is about 2mm to clear the brakes. i wish there were some bettery solutions out there

You can get the 10mm spacers with a sitter, and reducing it,

i done that before with my previous E60, with-out any problems....

Ok how thin did make the spacer my machine shop attempted this and the sitter fell off when he got to about 3-4 mm thick

Unfortunately i don’t picture the spacers when i done it in C43 & E60,

As i remember i had 10mm H&R, and i reduce it about 4mm, in C43, and 6mm in the E60,,

That of course depends to your Rim spec. and off-set....

4) Installed "Evo-sport" UD pulleys,,

5) Replaced the Injectors from stock (217cc) to (283cc) from "C55/CLK55/SLK55",,

6) Replaced the Ignition Wires from stock "Bosch" to "Magecor KV85 ",,

7) Switched the tranny from "722.631 A580Nm", to the one from (S/SL600/65 Bi-Turbo),, which is "722.649 A900Nm"
