Is it possible to install camber kit on c43 your self???

I was wondering If I can install my camber kit myself? Has anyone ever done it themselves? The shop wants to charge me $500 to put on the front and rear.

Hi Vlad,

Which camber kits are you talking about as you mention front and rear? The front can only be adjusted using special OEM eccentric bolts but with very limited adjustablity. Rears are not adjustable at all.

If you have a KMac kit for front and rear using the adjustable bushes, the installation can be DIY if you have the right tools and equipement as you need to extract the old bushes from the front A arm. That needs doing with a hydraulic press as it will most likely be rusted. Other option would be to buy a new A arm, press out the bush and insert the KMac adjustable. Rears is the same problem i.e. extraction/insertion of concentric bushes.

If you have adjustable camber arms like those from Speedybenz or other types available around here, it's a simple swap using regular tools. Just make sure to have some rust penetrator for the nuts and bolts.

In all cases, you will need specialist equipment to do a full suspension alignment after the modifications.

Keep us posted

P.S. I will probably do a full suspension rebuild on "T Rex" next winter to install the KMac kit for front and rear I have and change all the rear suspension arms which I already have in a box. I'll probably also get new front suspension A arms too. That should give a second life to "T Rex's" legs and go well with the KW suspension kit already installed

Can you recommend a front camber kit for the '98 C43 with OEM suspension? Also, if we decide to put new coilovers on the car, would that camber kit work or would another version be needed?

Thanks,
(currently putting the roll bar into our C43 hill climb car......)

Yes I bought the mb arts one for the rear. I havent bought the front one but, I will be going with K-mac. K-mac is the best front camber kit thats what I heard. Im pretty sure if you do coil overs it will work too. I thought the V2 coil overs come with adujstubal camber arms?

If you have OEM suspension the OEM eccentrics will work fine. Coil overs will not work on a C43 (unless you are doing some serious modding to the suspension) but if you install after market springs get the KMAC kit for the front. KMAC has a kit for the rear as well but I went with the MBArts camber arms, they offer MUCH more adjustment.

To install the front caber kit, you need the control arm off. To get the control arm off, you need the front springs off. The front camber kit by KMac is basically eccentric bolts within poly bushings.Getting those back into the control arm is pretty easy as the poly bushings are two piece. But you will likely need a press or a combination of a hacksaw and a vice to get the original bushings out. KMac includes some bushing removal tools with their kits, but they are rather rudimentary tools. And you need a decent spring compressor to get the springs in and out too. No such thing as coilovers on the 202 chassis because it has separate spring and shock set up, with the upper spring perch on the body and the lower on the control arm.

Wow it seems time consuming. I don't have that many tools. I would have to probably rent them. Its probably easier to pay a shop and they would allotment my car after too. When I did suspension on my car it took me about 8 hours to do without the right tools.

I was reading that people have different setups. a guy on here did the rear Mb arts camber kit and put a #4 spring pad for the rear. And for the front he put eccentric bolts instead of Kmac camber kit. Following a #5 spring pad for the front. I was wondering if anyone heard of this setup?
