plasti dipped a few things and lovin it

hey guys i came across a few threads on plasti dipping our grills... and since every one and there uncle has a avantgarde grill i wanted something diffrent and bought some black dip and tried it out... i liked the grille so much that i bought white dip and did my escort, my engine covers and my sub surround... lol what do you guys think? I chose the dip because at anytime i can take it off and its high heat sustainability... all i have left to do is waiting on my h and r springs and 10mm spacers.... anybody's criticism is welcome and i am trying to do simple mods that don't require ruining original parts... hope to here some feedback

Looks pretty sweet actually! The engine cover is pretty cool, though it looks a little out of place with nothing else painted or anything. And the black on the grill actually makes the star somewhat manageable. For the first time I can remember Im not hating the star grill on a 202 completely

I'm digging the engine cover, although white will likely get dirty pretty quickly there. Let me know how it stands up, heat-wise, as it's rated to 312F max.

I just finished painting the fuse box cover and radiator cap to kinda make it blend better and curios about how long it will last too, but based on some videos I watched its lasted people more than 6 months and still looks new plus i have some mean green that supposedely keeps it clean. Ill post a update tommorow and here in a few weeks ill post another to see how it handles

I dig it as well, it looks pretty good in white. Actually, now that I see it here, I don't understand why nobody ever tried to do this before....

The late 90s/early 2000s S-class trunk badge fits it for the most part (what I got). 90mm was the diameter, methinks. Was like $5 on eBay.

I love the white airbox

How easy is it to get this stuff off? I was thinking about doing my rims black and I wanna be able to go back to silver in case I don't like it...

If you do it properly (~6 coats), it peels off really easily (think of the BMW in the movie "Taxi"). If you do fewer coats than that, have fun picking at all the little pieces.

You should do the top of the radiator over flow as well, I think that would tie it all together.

Looks very nice, I really like it!

My good friend loves this stuff and has dipped everything down to his wheels. He just has to use a special solution to clean the wheels because is can be a little tedious to clean, but it has stood up to the tests. I am really thinking about going w/ the black dip on my wheels.
