I started to widen my C43/55 body to fit my new tires...
Some years ago I prepared my fenders to fit for the 245/35 and 285/30 tires. Now I was looking for new tires of same dimension but most of them were much wider. Now I decided to make the body fit for the wides (rear) tires available on that dimension. The 285/30 is 309mm wide! I put it on 11x18 wheels with offset 15 (minimum you will still get certificated on W202). Front is 245/35 on 8,5x18 with offset 25 but I am waiting for new adapters to go down to offset 15 too.

I will just post the pictures from last some weeks. When I have time or if you have some questions, I will insert some text later. The project costs a lot of time I don't have (job, family...)

The hood air outlet is self made. There is a small gallery: http://s1122.photobucket.com/user/Po...49668427897467

Maybe I will also implement the SL65AMG hood outlets too.

Spacers are adapter 5x112 to 5x130 (Porsche). I already have different sizes: 16/20/25mm to be flexible... Now I am waiting for 30 and 35 mm.
Rear is 11x18 offset 40 with 25mm adapters (total offset 15). Front now is 8,5x18 offset 52 with 25mm adapters, but I will swap to 35mm adapters (total offset 17).
I use spacers from Schippan (a small German manufacturer you can get also custom specified spacers, so I have better centering).
