been a member since 2009 and purchased an old members 190e back then. He went under the name "sinyo". I just recently sold the 190e two days ago and picked up a 99 C43 AMG last night. It has only 79k miles and its in incredible condition. Hes had it for 10 years and has only put on 50k. He was the 2nd owner and was his sunday driver. This guy had service records for literally every single thing on earth. Just did the B service under 7k miles ago and always took it to MB for anything. Luckily i was the first person to respond to his ad and i immediately threw a deposit down that same night cause i knew the next day it would be gone at that price.

only issues is the headliner is coming off in the rear as ive noticed this is a common issue. Any leads as to where i can fix this in socal?

Second issue is the sunroof switch is bad. To me it seems like its just plug & play or am i completely wrong? Doesnt seem like it should be very difficult to fix this myself after i locate a new switch. Anybody had to deal with one of these before?

Im also looking around to see where i can locate a few things for the car.

1. bosch amber corners
2. upgraded grill - is it hard to find OEM or do most people go with the avant ones? Ive heard mixed reviews about the avant ones. Anybody info would be great
3. Euro tails - Ive seen the euro amber ones and the euro all red tails. I guess its all preference but the guy with the all red tails is asking $300 for the all red ones. I know they are rare but whats a more reasonable asking price?

Thought that I would share a few pics! I stripped her down and I just finished rebuilding her as she just received a new paint job! It sounds like you are after a similar appearance. The corners are genuine Mercedes (Bosch) and the tails are genuine Mercedes (ULO).

 

Nk-you need to make a video of your exhaust... That's exactly the set up that I want.

Good looking car.

Headliner is an easy fix but labor intensive. Don't bother to try glue it in place, it just won't hold.
Best is to take it out, replace it with another one or clean the existing one and glue headliner fabric.
You can find headliner material in any fabric store, for example I get it from JoAnn Fabric, they have three colors of fabric with foam padded back.
You will need a 54x66 inch piece to cover the entire headliner.

The sunroof controls... rarely i had issue of all the controls going out at once, usually i can slide the sunroof but cannot tilt, or i can tilt but no slide...
Either way, you can use any w202 console from 1998 to 2000. Early w202-s had different plugs.
w210s have also same console and it would fit but they're different colors.

now that is what im talking about! exactly what im going for. What did you pay for your bosch corners and amber tails? Theres a guy on another board that has amber corners, side markers & tails selling as a whole. Im close to pulling the trigger

 

cant thank you enough for the insight! i was under the assumption i could take any w202 sunroof switch and swap it out, seems like a no brainer but i wasnt 100% sure. This should be a much cheaper and easier fix then expect. If im going to go thru all that trouble to take it out, might as well switch it up to maybe something else, black suede or something.

 

my pops is a maniac when it comes to detailing. just took it to his house for a 4 hour detail job, clay bar and everything!!

Found it on craigslist for $6,500. By luck i responded only hours after he listed the car. I went to see it immediately and put a down payment sight on seen. The owner took it to the dealer and they offered him $1,500 for it so thats why he was asking $6,500 for it. I sold my 190e sportline and just paid the difference of what i needed to get the C43.
