not really worth it unless you're really counting ounces and trimming weight for
race related purposes etc. for 2 wheelers, the weight savings can really pay
off in terms of power/weight ratio (less so for cars).

i have similar technology on the 1200cc motorcycle which saved about 8#.
other advantages include not needing to maintain upright position, venting
concerns, better cold weather resistance.

disadvantages: requires purchase of new smart charger designed just for LiPo,
high price ticket

original battery should be minimum 95 to 100Ah
74Ah is a bit low I think for all power options, ac and crank

ZAYED,,
on my side of the world our cars are fitted with 95 or 100 amp batteries, hotter climate countries might have weaker batteries?

Put the battery in my car and try it about "4" hours with audio/ac/all lights on,

start the car many times, without any kind of problems...,

i will keep trying it for more "2-3" days & see....

On there website it shows the VRP-S40 as $1660 USD, that's pretty up there but in comparison to other light wieght mods it is not that expensive(ie my brakes cost about 2500usd and save 12.5kg)...however, assume it lasts 7 years till replacment...that's an on going cost of $237usd per year for as long as you want to save 15-20kg...I dont like the thought of definitely having to replace it one day.

I'll stick with my Bosch 100 ah (changed last spring) until a cheaper solution is available. Some weight in the back end helps getting the power down on the road.

I'll save some weight other ways like some dieting. I'm aiming for a 15kg reduction and that will definitely help getting in and climbing out of my Ultima when she's finished

Lucky for some haha, if I wieghed 15kg less i'd vanish^^.

Zayed, Put 17" light wieght spare wheel from CLK55(maybe 210 as well?) weighs 17.3kg which is same wieght as my 17x8" Enkie race wheels/tires, thats 5kg's less than the stock mono/tire combo

Also it clears BBK(stoptech, brembo etc) unlike the mono spare

I removed the spare "3" years ago, keep wheel arch empty,,

im using brakes from 99 C280, "2" years ago, Extra more lighter, and do the job perfectly, but of course; quickly fade-up.....

C280 brakes, compared to C43/CLK55/E55:-

*Front Rotors: "6.2kg vs 10.2kg",

*Rear Rotors: "3.3kg vs 7.1kg",

*Front Calipers with Pads: "4.8kg vs 7.3kg",

*Rear Calipers with Pads: "3.2kg vs 5.4kg"....
