Have some rear diff maintenance questions for the c43

Hello everyone, I'm planning on changing some things on my rear diff. First thing I need to change the flex disk? Then drive shaft bearing? And rear axle diff bearing? I'm a bit confused and wanted to know the exact bearings and bushings to change.

If someone can guide me to the part links I would appreciate it.
There are diff bushings too? Those go bad?

1) for drivshaft, you have to change the center bearing with boot if they goes bad, and change "2" felx discs, if they has cracks,,

*center bearing #: "008 981 43 25"

*boot #: "202 411 04 97"

*flex discs #: "210 410 06 15"

2) for the axles, you only need to change inside & outside boots if they has some cracks & grease the interior flanges,,

*inside boots #: "210 350 05 37"

*outside boots #: "210 357 01 91"

3) for the diff., there are "3" seals, "2" for sides, & "1" for front, with oil change, and change the diff. mounts if they damaged,

if your diff. not worn out, no need to change the bearings.....

*front seal #: "024 997 99 47"

*side seals #: "025 997 26 47"

*diff. oil #: "001 989 17 03/10"

*castrol LSD OEM Castrol syntrax 75w-140(which preferred) #: "001 989 52 01/10"

*diff. mounts #: "202 351 11 42"

The three seals on my rear differential are sweating. This is probably normal considering the vehicle has 250k km now. Nothing major but at the last technical inspection, the technician told me that they should be changed some time down the road before they go from sweating to dripping oil on the floor. That looks like to be a major job which is outside of a DIY one. Also, if the diff is removed to change the seals, it would be a good moment to get a Quaife LSD installed inside

+1 ... what's the OE LSD? Sounds pretty good, especially the less expensive than Qaife part

I appreciate all the info, cmk60. So you recommend just changing the flex disks, driveshaft bearing, differntail bushings too? and Cv joint boots? Anything else? I just drive the car hard and want to keep it in top shape. I just want to be sure so I don't buy unnecessary parts.

Do you also know if subframe bushings go bad? My car is lowered and I'm trying to change all the bushings out. I just want to make sure if it's necessary to change those and are there two in the front and rear?

You need to find an ASD 3.07 diff. from (W124 300E/300D/300TD/300CE/300E 4Matic),

fo make it fit well, needs to switch side flanges from your C43 to the ASD diff.,

then you should to replace the rear shaft from the CLK320, to match the size of the front flange & flex disc,

done that "3" months ago, without any issues.....

*you can also order OE LSD carrier from the dealer directly, #: "124 350 93 23".....

Opps, I get it now bro. So the drive shaft has its own center support boot. The cv joint boot are different and are apart of the Axle.

You have to investigate all things, before order unnecessary items, that depend to your parts condition,

have to see all parts careFULLY, to avoid missing something.....

Good call it sucks because I don't have a lift or jacks. And to look under the car is a pain in the *** because the car is lowered.

Sure, Wavetrac & Quaife are great to go with, and they may better than OE,,

but labor & bearings replacement will be more awful $$$-$$$....

1) 3.07 ASD diff. = $380

2) CLK320 rear shaft = $150

3) Castrol syntrax 75w-140 oil = $48

4) labor for flanges & seals & CLK320 rear shaft replacement, and diff. installed = $220

In previous video i had fronts: 225/40/18, rears" 255/35/18, each rim weight 7.5kg,

last week i put fronts: 235/35/19, rears" 265/30/19, each rim weight 16.8kg,

ESP still flashing till 135km with both different rims & tires size, any idea why....?!?
