does everything else work properly? if so, leaking vacuum element for floor flap is likely.

start by checking the main vacuum line that feeds the switchover block.

under the hood, it's the plastic vacuum line at the rear of the engine, goes into a wiring harness right at the rear of the airbox on top. check at engine and at rubber hose. could also be unplugged under the hood on the right side by the module box.

finally you could just check the source at the switchover block, it's behind the glovebox.

i'd start there, likely it's just that if you're having other issues too.

do you see the line coming from the back of the motor up to the harness? it is right at the rear of the airbox. if you can't see it going into that harness, it's probably unplugged and hanging down.

it's a hard plastic vacuum line, gray in color. then it plugs into a rubber vacuum hose that is in the harness tray. 9 times out of 10 it is unplugged if you have the problem you're describing.

here is a pic i pulled from ebay. it's from a clk55 but it's pretty close to what your car is like. you can see the gray line going up to the harness there. slightly different on the w202 but you get an idea what you're looking for.

benzslo you the man, I did not see it at first because obove the air box it is enclosed, to the left in the box area was a L shaped joint that was broke, the floor heat doesnt really work any better but the car is warmer, I plan to go above the air box and open the plastic case and see if it is broke there, Thanks man, I really appreciate it, Kevin
