Judging by your apparent knowledge I guess we're safe to assume you've already made sure the battery is charged appropriately.

Where is this "comfort" module you speak of? The one in the trunk beside the battery?

Perhaps your immobilizer has tripped? Key has failed?

I'm not sure but it could be your crank postion sensor too. Our c43s tend to have those problems. If the crank postion sensor goes bad then the car won't start. Or could die out while driving. That's what's happening to me right now. I'll start my car and it will die immediately. I'll have to try two times just to start it lol. You could try to replace the sensor and see if that helps.

If your light are on and bright and all the other electrics work normally, the battery is fine. How much is the voltage across the + and - poles?

AMG Battery

Battery is standard factory battery. I just installed the 3rd factory battery in my C43 in 15 years. 122,000 miles, can't beat that. Cost $230 US. And I live in So Calif desert, we have 4 months of 105 to 115 degree temps, AC runs almost year round.

Replaced factory original battery in my 1994 C280 in about 2003 with 150k miles. Never bought another battery, sold it in 2011 with 255k miles.

It is probably your starter solenoid. To check it, disconnect the wire coming to it from the ignition start circuit. Then with a 20 amp fused lead, run 12 volts to it from the 12 V main terminal on the starter. It is the major cable that comes from the battery. If it does not engage and turn the engine than it is your solenoid. If it cranks the engine than it is in the ignition start circuit.

Crank sensor has nothing to do with this problem.

Starters for all M112 and M113 's are the same as long as they are on same side of the block.

I'd just change the whole thing, they are pretty cheap. Used should be ok, they rarely give trouble anyway.
