bad cps?

About 2 weeks ago, my car had a hard time starting so I figured it could be the fuel pump and fuel filter since the car was cranking. I ordered both and installed them last week. Fixed the problem for a week but it happened again last Saturday and left me stranded 1 hour away from my house. Good thing I got 100 miles of free towing! I took a video and maybe you guys can help me with this.... Thanks in advance!

When hot, my car won't even crank the first 10+ tries. Sometimes it will crank right up and immediately die a few times.

New CPS did nothing to fix it. I'm about to set the damn thing on fire.

Sorry, I'm no help. Just commiserating

Fuel pump/fuel pump relay/fuel filter/bad or dirty injectors/bad CPS/MAF hot film goes bad/dirty throttle body/bad battery/bad starter solenoid/alternator regulator goes bad,,

all these could cause starter delay or bad starter during more cold or more hot...!!

how can we narrow it down? is there a way to diagnose without just replacing parts?

I would hook up a reader to see if there are any codes...

it's the toothed part between engine and transmission need greasing.
if lube is dried out car might have starting difficulties

I hate to get involved in the internet guess game. But I'd be damned surprised if adding grease to flywheel teeth is going to fix something. I'd lean more to hooking up a reader and logging some live data. Have you done anything with the maf? I had one fail one time and cause the exact same symptoms with no check engine or mil.

Shame you don't have access to a scope to verify the cps. Going to have to take it one system at a time.

I thought this is a problem caused by a bad Crankshaft Sensor 003 153 96 28 or a bad Camshaft Positioning Sensor 003 153 83 28.
