C43 HPS Supercharge needs transmission
Hi All,
I have a 98 C43 that has 105k miles on it and the transmission finally decided to break.
I'm look for a company that does or has transmission rebuilds, hopefully in So. California.
The car is putting out an conservative 100hp & 100 ft/lbs in addition to the factory specs per HPS.
Any ideas? I've read the 722.636 is a good upgrade, but not sure if it will fit or what to change over to make it fit...
Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks GP

722.636 fits, ive just done this swap 3 weeks ago since my original gearbox also blew.
u only need to swap the parking cable mechanism
and change the flange from 4-finger to 3-finger.

I suppose that it's safe to say that one should steer clear of that much added torque if they don't want to run into any transmission issues. Correct? Thx

Depending on how far you want to go (and how much money you want to spend), the SRT8's use a 722.6 based transmission and there are builders for those:

Sorry to revive the topic, i'm been so busy and left this repair on hold. So does anyone know a source for a 722.636?
I've spoken to Mark at Sun Valley Mercedes and he wants to rebuild ir exchange mine..approx 2k in costs.

POSSIBLY Looking for tranny for 2003 CL55 AMG
few days ago I was driving and out of nowhere the car just slipped into neutral. There was no lights on the dashboard no warning signs. So I freaked out a little bit because I had just got my car back after replacing the water pump two days prior. so now I'm sitting there in the middle of the street and the car is just revving... so I put the car back and park turn the car off. And I wait about a minute. Then I start the car and I start shifting the gears to see if the car changes sounds as I do so. Which it does. So I put it in drive and the car drives normal for about 20 seconds and then I hear a slight whine and it slipped back into neutral. I have no idea what it could be but I need to get something done about it ASAP

I just dropped my pen for my transmission and the were shavings in it. So it looks like debris was getting sucked up into the filter and causing the transmission to slip out of gear. The car has 170k miles on it so this was inevitable. When they opened up the transmission they saw that the converter was all torn up and needed to be replaced. So that solves that problem.... total cost to rebuild is 1600 at

We have a 2004 E500 4Matic, 133,000 miles and the only major stuff thats happened is the front air struts. Other than that, its just normal maintenance... new tires, new brakes, new brake sensors. No leaks, no motor issues of any kind.
Little Glitches? Have the oscillating power locks on the passenger side. Probably too expensive to fix as car still locks fine. Also the dash computer, starts up asking if emission inspection has been done on schedule? Searching for that computer reset that lets you clear all that bunk.

Did you guys have the transmission serviced prior to the issues or did you not do anything as per MB's original service timelines?

Hi guys.
will we sit on my C43 2019 wheels in this setup?
2x 8.5 JX 19 ET 38 tires 225/40
2x 9.5 JX 19 ET 56 tires 255/35
The wheels should be OEM from C63
Thanks for the advice, I'm a beginner and I don't know what to do
