no the 1st 2 cats do their job well.
no need to hack/saw more in the system.
sound is good, performance is good .. it wont give me an extra 10 horses so i dont see the benefits of it to change them..

As I have done the secondary cats and resonator delete, for each official technical inspection I need to reinstall the OE exhaust, otherwise the inspectors give it a no pass. To avoid this somewhat time consuming procedure, I've been considering taking the secondary cats, gutting them and welding a straight pipe through the canisters and reinstalling them in the system. That way it would look normal. Then I am thinking of installing the OE looking resonator delete pipe (Kowalski has one if I'm correct). See pic below http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-C43-...item33a4cd11ab
With this set up the inspectors wouldn't probably see the difference. Also I need to change my 18" Monos back the the regular 17". Thankfully my OE wheels have decent tyres to pass the technical inspection. 18" will not pass if the inspector does his work correctly and reads up the homologation and technical docs as the 18"s were never a factory approved wheel size for a C43 nor any other w202 model

Kowalski can confirm it's a great buy and highly recommend if you don't want to molest your stock system by cutting it in pieces.
i've heard from other C43 guys who did the 55 swap, coz of bigger displacement from 55 engine, car will sound even more brutal like a lion - Roooooooooarrrrrrrrrrrrrr - with the same pipe
buy it and be happey
it's a great investment for everyone as it's made of HQ german stahl

Btw the two pipes that you have now that are running all the way to your muffler, did you just add another pipe and kept it same size as the stock one or did you completely redo everything and ran different diameter pipe?

completely emptied the 2ndairy cats and placed this nice piece perfect fit pipe.
i also have installed these, see the difference in runners compared with stock:
and put in these airfilters, according to another benz forum these should be better then KN:

i kept the same size piping..
and this is how it currently is installed, so dual piping (no 2ndairy cats) all the way till behind the diff. and then nicely welded into the stock piping of my Original AMG muffler.
so now uve seen all my mods to become to the 394 number
the sound is wicked and just as how it should be.
a very nice deep AMG V8 ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR.
and like a nice scream when accelerating.

Looking at the photos it seems that the exhaust is in one piece with no flanges somewhere. Could be wrong but...
Also looking at the rear silencer/muffler, I wonder if it is not possible to get the second pipe connected directly to the container instead of connecting to the other pipe. Otherwise looks like a real nice setup

thanks!! and correct ..
indeed the new piping is one piece which, if u want to take off, comes off as one. with the 2 clamps its atached to modified front pipes. (modified so the new piping fits nice and easily onto the front pipes)
u can not just weld into the stock Original AMG muffler because there are made chambers in it. the design of the muffler is specially made for our car.
therefor it has an angle in it. (the huge box gives it that special amg/v8 sound) when installing the open muffler the sound was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy different and totally not like a deep dark tone.
ive thought about installing an E55/W210 muffler because these have 2 inlets, but unfortunatly the box from an E55/W210 is way to big to fit.
(therefor C43 has got this strange looking muffler..it needs room/space to absorb exhaust gasses)

today 2nd time in a row after i got my car chipped/tuned.
more then 400km on a full tank.. that 1/8!!!!!
so fuel consumption got better after my modified ECU.
this will pay the cost back which i paid for having this done.

full tank is 62L if i remember correct, do you only cover 400km's on a full tank?
you must have a very heavy right foot?
you should drive in normal conditions in legal speeds to see how much your car drinks?
many years ago i did a fuel consumption check, I covered approx 560-570km's on a full tank.
that was pritty ok i think for lame driving

when my fuel light goes on i visit a fuelstation.
so i allways fill up around 50/53 liters.
remember this is with 5.4 engine not 4.3.
i also must admit i dont do much long distance trips , so for me this a nice extra
with the 4.3 i reached 500+km also when doing long distance trips.
before i got the ecu tweaked i have never reached 400km.

did you drive mixed conditions = old geezer driving/carthief driving?
with the new ecu tweak you reach +500 km?
i thought C43 ecu adapated to the new 5.4L engine and consumption will depend on your driving conditions?
if you drive normal you get normal fuel consumption approx 10L/100km's

sorry, must be my terrible english/or a language thing..
read 4.3/stock C43 i could reach 500km before swapping the engine.
before this i drove for over a year with the stock C43 ecu on a 5.4/swapped engine. and thuss never reached 400km. max i got was like 350/360km.
so now with tweaked ecu my fuel consumption is less i noticed.
i filled, since the tweak, twice now and both times hit the 400+km mark.
btw. i dont think i drive like an avarage guy
when im going to drive like such person ill buy a C180
anyway in the end the ecu adjustment shows for me it was worth it.

just a normall exhaustgas check.
at a higher rpm lambda must not be higher then 1.03
so between 0.97-1.03
