do you still use stock c43 ecu with 5.4L engine or did ya tweak it?
is it a 20% loss from an automatic gearbox with the swap to E55 engine having 354HP?
354HP x 20% is 70.80
354 - 70.80 is 283.20HP
rear axle output should come to 283.20HP
losing 70.80HP because of the auto gearbox is a lot of lost HP
is this correct?

Still stock C43 ecu, no tweaks, tunes or other changes. I agree that 20% is a lot of loss. My understanding is that auto transmissions usually suck between 15-20% from the engine. I suppose a better estimation would be looking at the stock 4.3 and the loss there.
Assuming 302HP x 20% = 60.40
302-60.40 = 241whp
It sounds like I was either down power (could be any number of reasons) or this transmission draws more power than normal (20%-25%). Not sure which but my guess is the transmission creates close to a 20% driveline loss.
Maybe someone else with a swap has before and after numbers.

Yeah, trans. is the main device that transform the power to the shaft & diff., through axles,
it will basically decrease the power around (-20%>>-18%), during to full RPM range,,
you can put a stronger trans. & V/B, that can reduce the potential weak point of all Mechanical & Electrical components to around (-15%>>-13%) in trans. platform..!!

Thanks, I feel a transmission upgrade coming in the near future.
Zayed, can I use the transmission from a 2004 CL55? My car uses the older EGS 51 TCU, however, I do have touchshift.
Thanks

Sure, it will fit,
need to expand the trans. mount left hole about (2mm), and install your brown solenoids, instead of blue solenoids in the CL55 V/B,,
your stock EGS51 will works fine with it..

How different is the 01 e55 tranny?
When swapping the 210 e55 trans in, what else would you recommend doing? Should anything be done with the ecu or the trans control board that has solenoids on it?

All 5.4l trans. sharing the same out-put power with any 4.2l>>5.0l,
just need to remove the rear parking cable plug and put your parking cable in it,,
no need to do anything to ECU or TCU..!

did you have to drill a 2mm wider hole in the 722.636 transmission bracket to fit the tranny mount or did you drill a 2mm wider hole into the rubber tranny mount bracket?

No need to drilled for 722.636, drilled need it for 722.64XX,
there's "2" bolts, that holds the mount to the bracket,
in 722.64xx; the mount bolt point is little bit differ than any 722.6 families, need to wider one hole about (2mm), to let the mount set properly at the mount bracket..

thanks bro.
this is what needs to be done?
# take the P-cable plug and P-cable from old 722.631 tranny and transfer to the other 722.636 tranny.
# Remove 3 finger output flange from 722.631 tranny and install to 722.636
These are the only 2 above things to do when doing a tranny swap?
