Long shot question, 55 swapped E430 lean issue
Threw a wideband on to check AFR pre-cat and the car threw a Check Engine light due to the missing pre-cat O2 sensor. This should throw the car into open loop.
With the car in open loop, my AFR are 15 under idle and I struggle to get anything under 15 under any loading.
All sensors are good, MAF / MAP are both functioning properly. Fuel pressure stays at 60 psi (at rail) always.
I've been thinking of unplugging the Air Pump and maybe mess with EGR as well?
I'm currently stuck and trying to band-aid something so that I'm no running so lean. Even thought of bumping up the voltage of the MAF so that the ECU thinks more air is coming in.
Any suggestions guys? I know the C43 guys usually do the 55 swap so thought I ask!
Thanks

maybe the problem is related?
mechanically the motors are identical, so I can't imagine it being anything else. can the 430 ECU even be flashed to 55?
My friend has a C 43 and he has a 5.5 swap as well. I want to throw a wideband on his car just to see what AFR he's getting. I assume some of the c43 guys on the forums already have a wideband on their car?

Next step is weld in a bung next to the pre-cat O2 sensor and then track fuel trims as well.
Or pay a shop to do everything for me hah
Trying to rule out everything mechanically. Need to weld in an O2 bung so car is running in closed-loop and I can track AFR.
I verified AFR with the wideband and everything is spot on! Learned my lesson and now I know who to visit for Mercedes tuning!
with the wrong data how did your car act when you were driving?
did it go like crap or what?
